Holy Zohar text. Daily Zohar -1121

Pinchas 143-145

The Zohar brings a story about Rabbi Elazar, the son of Rabbi Shimon. A wise gentile came to him and said:
“You say that a new Temple will be built for you but there is mention of only two Temples in the Bible. There is no third Temple in the Bible as it says in Haggai 2:9
“The glory of this latter house shall be greater than that of the former, saith YHVH of hosts; and in this place will I give peace, saith YHVH of hosts.’ ”

Second question:
“You claim to be closer to the ‘King’, YHVH more than all the other nations of the world. That should put you in a state of happiness, worry and trouble free but the fact is that you are always in sorrow with pain and suffering more than any other nation in the world.
We are happy and blessed so we are the ones closer to the ‘King’ and you are far from him. That is why you have all that sufferings.

Third question:
“You don’t eat every animal but the one that is pure and slaughtered properly so you can have a healthy body. We eat anything we like without restriction. We are strong and healthy and all of our body parts exist in good conditions.
You are all weak; suffer from all kind of diseases more than all other nations. God hates you in all aspects. You are an old man and I don’t want to hear you or accept any answer from you”

The ‘wise’ gentile finished his words. Rabbi Elazar just looked at him and the gentile turned into a pile of bones.

Many people on their path of life struggle with these questions and identify with the gentile’s questions.

The only thing that he was deadly wrong was the dependency on the physical aspect of life as a reward from God.
Rabbi Elazar respected his wish and didn’t say a word but he did give the answer. His look ‘vaporized’ the physical existence out of that person. Without any physical force, he controlled physicality.

I don’t need to repeat many lessons we discussed here on the Daily Zohar about the true purpose of this life. We all should work on purifying our soul and be ready for the next world when we will be able to control matter with our mind.
All material and physical things are only used to serve the soul in becoming pure, better and bigger.

And for those who are still looking for the answers here they are:

The third Temple will not be built by us in the lower world but will come down from heavens. It is part of the promised Final Redemption.
We suffer to nullify the desire of the body for itself and to have greater awareness to the spiritual connection.
Food represents spiritual energies. We do not eat what ever ‘corrupts’ the stability of our soul.

Did you ask your self why Rabbi Elazar didn’t or couldn’t vaporize the gentile’s bones?

  1. avatar Joshua says:

Wow, awesome story. Is this what Moses did to the Egyptian with one of the 72 Names? Now regarding the Gentile’s bones, maybe Rabbi Elazar showed him mercy by leaving his bones intact. Gail found a reference in Ezeziel 37 when the Creator told Ezekiel that He will cause the dry bones to come to life by breathing into them.

  2. avatar Virgil says:

Dear Zion thank you for your work of spreading light. I take as much as I can from your wise words and from the Daily Zohar. This story has many symbols.
Bones cannot be vaporised, according to QBLH, they keep the body for reborn: RASHITH HA-GILGALIM.

  3. avatar Daniel says:

    Thank you Zion.
    Peace and blessings

  4. avatar Lea says:

    Simply wonderful, Zion,
both, the study free of frills and therefore so deep as well as your comment:)
    thank you so much!

A peaceful Shabbat Shirah and a very cheerful TU B’Shvat to all,

  5. avatar Daliah says:

Yes, I read that story before and it really shocked me…I guess the bones stayed because the gentile can repent at the time of the resurrection?

    Shabbat Shalom
    D x

  6. avatar stephen geller says:

To vaporize the bones is to play God and to remove Malkuth. To remove the Shekinah. And thus to deny to everyone the possibility of recognizing the existence of his or her own soul, in contrast with the physical world. It would be the worst thing that Rav Elazar could have done, and would have betrayed his lesson.

    • avatar Lea says:

Well, scholars and sages of the Zohar always point to the indestructible עצם הלוז / bone luz as prerequisite for the resurrection…

  7. avatar Judith says:

    The Gentile
    *Lost Sheep are Important*
    Ezekiel 34:11-31
Thus says the Lord GOD: “Indeed I Myself will search for My sheep and seek them out. As a shepherd seeks our his flock…..so will I seek out My sheep and deliver them from all the places where they were scattered on a cloudy and dark day.”

Nothing happens by chance. The Gentile and the Rabbi were meant to meet. A lesson for the Gentile to explore the Torah/Tanakh.

Very well put Zion! Thank you!

  8. I loved the story, Zion! Thank you for such a nice work!

  9. avatar doris alexander says:

I loved the Story too, and I like the Joshua comment.
    thank you
    Shabbat Shalom to everyone.

  10. avatar charles says:

If reference is being made to the latter house being greater than the former than this cannot be referring to the Temples. The glory of the first Temple was greater than the second. What it is referring to is that Mashiach ben David will be greater than Moshiach ben Yosef.

  11. avatar martha amaya says:

I believe if Rabbi Elazar vaporized everything of the human except the bones because the bone in all of us are part of the phisical world, everything else is part of Spirtuality. I think, please let me know the correct answer.

  12. avatar Rajel Alonso says:

What i understood and is the difference between gentiles and Yisrael and jew people, is exactly the “dependance” of the 1% of reality.. Both person as i’ve read were healthy, the difference was that is too difficult to put theirselves under a system of rules… In this case the rules of the Creator …. But here is my question … About meals… Are ready all those gentiles or they should be ready? to put themselves under the certainty of H’shem? I

  13. avatar Natalie says:

Can it be that bones physical representation of the light of the Chochmah consciousness?

    • avatar Zion Nefesh says:

In the physical level we find in every matter (if we can call it so) atoms with Electrons, neutrons and protons.
In the spiritual aspect of EVERY ‘physical’ matter we have the aspect of the 10 Sefirot. From the aspect of the body we have the bone marrow as Keter (concealed) and the bones as Chokmah (Concealed yet in obvious state). The Sinews (Binah bridge between the Bones and the Flesh), Flesh (Z”A) and Skin (Malchut).
      BTW.
The head and face have also all the aspects. Eyes for Chokmah, Ears for Binah, Nose for Z”A and Mouth for Malchut.

The Ten Sefirot and the five types of lights (Nefesh, Ruach, Neshamah, Chaya and Yechida) exists/connected to everything.

  14. avatar Rajel Alonso says:

Zion: My mom died 7 years ago… She was buried in some place, but after 7 years my family built a monument, and wanted to pass the corpse there…. When they opened the tumb, just the feel were degrade and were in bones, not all the body. So they decide to burn the corpse… When she was alive she asked to us never buried her,. Of course wasn’t my decition. Do u think that all the soul could elevate its sparkles?… Thks a lot… Rajel

    • avatar Zion Nefesh says:

A non spiritual person told his son to not say a kadish for him after he dies. Everyone knew about his wish. After the he died his son started saying Kadish for his father everyday. His friends asked to why he disobeyed his father’s wish and he replied that before he died, his father didn’t know the importance of the Kadish but now he knows….

I think that your mother was ‘lucky’ to be buried for a while, enough time to go through the burial Tikkun. She had spiritual points that caused the family not to cremate her from the beginning. Do good things in/for her memory.

      • avatar Rajel Alonso says:

Thnks a lot Zion!!! My soul is very happy!!! I need to say you that some days before she was exhumated she came to me to my dreams in a peaceful way, but little shy… Since that day i have had frequent dreams with her!! I know she is taking care of me!!! thnks a lot Zion… Rajel.

  15. avatar Joy says:

    Greetings form the USA:
WOW awesome teaching…..a great reminder of just how important the soul is to us not the body…of course we will care for our bodies ..but all of the work is for the soul…Great Perspective…Thanks be to G-d…and thank You Zion Nefesh…..
