Y – Chokmah, right brain, original formation of thoughts הרהור
H – Binah, left brain, thought process מחשבה.
There can’t be a thought process without a thought. Chokmah and Binah are a pair that come together to bring the light to the world.
Like the two parts of the brain that may look as separate parts but they function as one.
The result of the work of Chokmah and Binah is revealed in the heart, which is the aspect of Zeir Anpin that receives the thought process. The heart itself has left and right sides and activates the continuation of the Light in the lower levels.
When we listen to the Torah, we make connection to the heart, Zeir Anpin, ו V of the name. The reading and the words of the prayers are our alternatives to the sacrifices that were offered in the Holy Temple. Like the scent of the offerings on the altar, the words of the Torah and prayers ascend together with the Shechina to make unification.
“ הֲלוֹא כֹה דְבָרִי כָּאֵשׁ, נְאֻם-יְהוָה; וּכְפַטִּישׁ, יְפֹצֵץ סָלַע”
“Is not my word like as fire? Said YHVH; and like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?”
The words are the aspect of the ה H of the name and like fire, they ascend up with the Shechina to draw light of mercy for us.
