Pinchas 481-483

The Zohar tells us that when the world is in pain and a righteous person rises to correct it, the patriarchs come to support him.

Pinchas פינחס came to the level of Isaac יצחק, numerically 208 as the letters רח. He grabbed the letter מ Mem before the angel of death can reach it as we explained in previous study. Then he took the letter Vav ו , to create רומח, ‘spear’ that killed the source of negativity and removed death from the Israelites.

Abraham connected to Pinchas through the letters חס of his name because Abraham is Chessed, חסד, and חס means mercy that is the attribute of Chessed.

Jacob connected through the first three letters פני of Pinchas’s name. The Zohar points to the source of this connection in Genesis 32:31
“ וַיִּקְרָא יַעֲקֹב שֵׁם הַמָּקוֹם, פְּנִיאֵל: כִּי-רָאִיתִי אֱלֹהִים פָּנִים אֶל-פָּנִים, וַתִּנָּצֵל נַפְשִׁי”
“And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel (פְּנִי): ‘for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.”

It was the point that Jacob had a fight and was saved from death.

After the sin of the Golden Calf, God asked Moses to allow him to woe the people from the earth and restart with him a new nation. Moses didn’t think about himself nor put himself on a higher level, God put him there. He just connected to the Abraham, Isaac and Jacob for support to mitigate the judgment.

Exodus 32:!3
“Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, Thy servants, to whom Thou didst swear by Thine own self, and saidst unto them: I will multiply your seed as the stars of heaven, and all this land that I have spoken of will I give unto your seed, and they shall inherit it for ever.’”

Immediately after, we read (Exodus 32:14) “ וַיִּנָּחֶם, יְהוָה, עַל-הָרָעָה, אֲשֶׁר דִּבֶּר לַעֲשׂוֹת לְעַמּוֹ”
“And YHVH repented of the evil which He said He would do unto His people.”

All our major prayers connect us first to the three patriarchs that built the channels to the three columns of the Tree of Life.

Lessons; God is on our hearts and listen to every word we think or say but in order to make things happen we need the proper use of the tools and the connection to the Tree of Life.

Pinchas used the power of the Hebrew letters to energize his tools and stop the negativity. For his brave actions he received the support of the patriarchs.

Moses’ request was answered because he was humble and asked mercy for the people. God’s promise to make him a great nation did not change his mind. He wanted to follow the Tikkun to its end without any selfish agenda or desire to take ‘shortcuts’.
