Zohar Tzav

DZ 1457 – Idol Worshiping – body and soul relationship
We are all in a state of idol worshiping on different levels. The basic form is when we serve the body for the sake of the body. Feeding and treating the body for its basic existence is idol worshiping. As I said, it is the basic form that most of us cannot avoid.

The body is just a tool for the soul to complete its correction in this world. We must maintain the ‘tool’ in the best shape possible BUT with the consciousness that it is a slave to the soul and not the other way around.

That is why we make blessings over the food and on/for everything else that gives the body pleasure of some kind. The reason for that is to make the body aware and appreciate its Creator. The blessings give the soul power over the body with ability to direct the body to follow the ways of the Light.
Idols are gods of temporary state. The forces of the other side are strong as they cannot stay in existence after the coming of Mashiach.

The sacrifices in the Holy Temple were made to remind us of the temporary state of the flesh, and to use the soul of the animal as a conduit of Light to deliver cleansing energy to those who are connected to it in the material world. People with a lot of temporary materials have sense of security that is gone the moment they feel how close they are to their end. It comes to them in forms of life threatening situations.

Most of us grow older and realize the falsity of the material world. Money and materials can give us temporary state of pleasures and comfort but nothing beyond that.

In the previous DZ I asked
“Why the Torah deals with sacrifices immediately after the opening of the Holy Tabernacle? Why not having instruction on how to connect and draw light?”

People made great comments on the previous DZ about idol worshiping. Abraham answered;
“Could be because negativity is always present whenever there is an opening for the Light — the main reason why we put mezuza by the door. Also, we need to cleanse our vessel to allow the Light to come in.”
The other side with all its negativity is always next to us. It exists even when we bring the Light. They want to grab it. The Holy Tabernacle was built as a tool to remove negativity from the world therefore the first sets of instruction is on how to do so.

The other side hides in our body and gives it importance and priority. The other side tempts us with pleasures of this world. The other side is a lier that gives us empty promises. The other side pulls us toward death and hopeless situations. The other side wants your soul, but we can say no.

Our souls need the state of immortality that can be achieved only through the study of the Torah.
