14. וְלֹא עוֹד, אֶלָּא שֶׁהַגּוּף עַל הָעֲצָמוֹת עָתִיד לַעֲמֹד, וּמִשּׁוּם זֶה זְכֻיּוֹתָיו וְחוֹבוֹתָיו חֲקוּקוֹת עַל הָעֲצָמוֹת שֶׁלּוֹ, וְאִם יִזְכֶּה, יָקוּם הַגּוּף עַל הָעֲצָמוֹת שֶׁלּוֹ. וְאִם לֹא, לֹא יָקוּם וְלֹא יִהְיֶה לוֹ תְּחִיַּת הַמֵּתִים. וְלֹא עוֹד, אֶלָּא שְׁנֵי עֵדִים הֵם עַל הָאָדָם – עַיִן רוֹאָה וְאֹזֶן שׁוֹמַעַת, וּבֵית דִּין סוֹפֵר וְדָן חוֹבוֹתָיו. וְלֹא עוֹד, אֶלָּא שֶׁמֶשׁ וְיָרֵחַ מְעִידִים עַל הָאָדָם, כְּמוֹ שֶׁבֵּאֲרוּהוּ (תהלים פא) תִּקְעוּ בַחֹדֶשׁ שׁוֹפָר בַּכֶּסֶה לְיוֹם חַגֵּנוּ. מַהוּ בַכֶּסֶה? בַּיּוֹם שֶׁהַלְּבָנָה מִתְכַּסָּה. וּמַדּוּעַ מִתְכַּסֵּית? מִשּׁוּם שֶׁכַּאֲשֶׁר מַגִּיעַ רֹאשׁ הַשָּׁנָה, מַגִּיעַ סָמָאֵ”ל לִתְבֹּעַ דִּין לְבָנָיו לִפְנֵי הַקָּדוֹשׁ בָּרוּךְ הוּא, וְהוּא אוֹמֵר לוֹ שֶׁיָּבִיא עֵדִים. וְהוּא מֵבִיא לַשֶּׁמֶשׁ עִמּוֹ. הוֹלֵךְ לְהָבִיא הַלְּבָנָה, וְהִיא מִתְכַּסָּה. בְּאֵיזֶה מָקוֹם מִתְכַּסֵּית? אֶלָּא עוֹלָה לַמָּקוֹם הַהוּא שֶׁנֶּאֱמַר בּוֹ בַּמְכֻסֶּה מִמָּךְ אַל תַּחְקֹר, לְפַיֵּס לוֹ עַל בָּנֶיהָ.
15. וְזֶהוּ שֶׁאָמַר הַפָּסוּק, תִּקְעוּ בַחֹדֶשׁ שׁוֹפָר בַּכֶּסֶה לְיוֹם חַגֵּנוּ. לַמָּקוֹם שֶׁבּוֹ עוֹלָה הַשְּׁכִינָה, שֶׁנֶּאֱמַר בּוֹ וּבַמְכֻסֶּה מִמָּךְ אַל תַּחְקֹר. וַחֲטָאִים בְּכִסּוּי, שָׁם צָרִיךְ לָדוּן בֵּינוֹ לְבֵין קוֹנוֹ. וַעֲבֵרוֹת בְּגָלוּי שֶׁעָשָׂה אוֹתָם, נֶאֱמַר (משלי כח) מְכַסֶּה פְשָׁעָיו לֹא יַצְלִיחַ. שֶׁהַשְּׁכִינָה מִצַּד הַכֶּתֶר הִיא עוֹלָם הַנֶּעְלָם, וּבֵאֲרוּהָ בַּעֲלֵי הַמִּשְׁנָה שֶׁצָּרִיךְ אָדָם לְחַבֵּר אוֹתָהּ לַמָּקוֹם הַהוּא. בַּזְּמַן הַהוּא מַגִּיעַ זְמַן הָרַחֲמִים וְעוֹבֵר הַדִּין. וּמִשּׁוּם זֶה לַחֲבֵרוֹ אָמַר לְזַכּוֹת אוֹתוֹ בְּעֵדוּתוֹ, אֲבָל לְרָשָׁע אֵין מְזַכִּין לוֹ.

The eyes and the ears are two witnesses that testify on the person’s actions. They are responsible for activating our desires and driving us to positive or negative actions.

The sun, which is the aspect of Zeir Anpin, and the moon that is the aspect of Malchut, are also witnesses of our actions.

The Zohar reveals that on Rosh Hashanah, that is the first day of the seventh month, the entire world is judged and Sma-el, the minister of the other side, brings witnesses agains the people.

God set the court date on the first of the seventh month because on that day we start the six female months. The year starts in the month of Nisan (Aries) with six male months that is the aspect of Light and on Rosh Hashana begins the aspect of the vessel with six female months.

On that transition point we are judged and the Light that goes to the vessels is determined during the first 22 days of the year. The process ends on Simchat Torah when we finish reading the Torah and start again from Genesis. It represents the renewal of Light in the vessel.

The minister of the impure side can not get the testimony from Malchut because the moon is concealed and cannot reveal people’s actions before the court. The Shofar is a tool that connects us to Binah and draws mercy. The evil people can not connect higher and cannot receive the mercy and protection from Binah.

A good preparation is needed for everyone to be ready for the court date on Rosh Hashanah.

The month of Elul is made for it and its energy helps us cleanse ourselves.
