Zohar Lech Lecha
Isaiah 46:12
“שִׁמְעוּ אֵלַי, אַבִּירֵי לֵב–הָרְחוֹקִים, מִצְּדָקָה”
“Listen to me, you stubborn of heart, you who are far from righteousness (Tzedakah):”

The Zohar explains that the hearts of the wicked are hard. They know that there are inner and outer ways of the Torah but they don’t follow their paths. They don’t want to be close to the Holy One Bless be He and it takes them away from Tzedakah.

Most people are aware of the money aspect of Tzedakah but we learn from the Torah and the Zohar that there’s another aspect.

We know that a Tzadik is a righteous person with a greater ability to make spiritual connections and create spiritual bridges from Malchut to Yessod and the five Sefirot above in order to draw Light from Binah.

Isaiah 48:22
“אֵין שָׁלוֹם, אָמַר יְהוָה לָרְשָׁעִים”
“There is no peace (Shalom),” says YHVH, “for the wicked.”

Peace is Light that brings complete fulfillment to the vessel. The wicked cannot enjoy peace because they have no spiritual connection to the Light.

The following verse is from the portion of Lech Lecha and it comes after God revealed himself to Abram, showed him the stars, and promised him a great future.

Genesis 15:6
“וְהֶאֱמִן, בַּיהוָה; וַיַּחְשְׁבֶהָ לּוֹ, צְדָקָה”
“And he believed YHVH, and he counted it to him as righteousness.”

Abram saw and believed,וְהֶאֱמִן in YHVH. The Hebrew word for believe is missing the letter Y י to reveal the secret of Abram’s connection. The first two letters are for Zeir Anpin and Malchut and the last three אמן are the roots of the work ‘believe’. Its numerical value is 91 to indicate that there is a connection of the upper name YHVH and the lower name ADNY. Together יאהדונהי, numerically 91.
Immediately after this event, God made the Covenant of the Halves with Abram, and shortly after renamed him to Abraham.

The paths of righteousness (Tzedakah) are the paths of the inner Torah, which is the Zohar. It gives us the ability to connect to the upper Sefirot and draw Light of fulfillment, peace.

The money aspect of Tzedakah is when a person gives money to save and support life. Tzedaka is giving money to sustain people in poverty when they must have money to survive. Tzedakah is given to a sick person that may lose his life without support.

When there are no people in our community/life that are at risk of losing their lives then Tzedakah should be given to those who reveal the Light of Torah and Zohar in the world. Their actions draw Light from the upper levels. When we support them we become part of their connection to the upper Sefirot, drawing Light of peace and fulfillment to the world.

Tzedakah can be part of tithing but not limited to it. The sages tell us that Tzedakah saves us from death. The above study explains why it is so. Share your Tzedakah with those who teach you the Torah and Zohar because they connect you to the Light of life and peace.
