Genesis 2:10
“A river flowed out of Eden to water the garden, ”

Chokmah is the spring that makes the holy river with endless flow of water. It is Binah that nourishes the entire existence. When we had the Holy Temple we could draw the nourishment from Binah but after its destruction the Israelites went into exile and their state is described in Job 14:11
“As water evaporates from the sea, And a river becomes parched and dried up,”

The Tzadik is the aspect of Yessod that directs the flow of the rivers from Binah to Malchut. When that happens the all the lower worlds benefits from it.
Without the work of the Tzadik the ‘Sea’ of Malchut cannot receive the nourishment it needs to sustain life.

Isaiah 57:1
“The righteous man perishes, and no one lays it to heart; devout men are taken away, while no one understands. For the righteous man is taken away from calamity;”

The Tzadikim and many good people are taken from this world and we don’t understand why. The verses above tell us that the world is getting dried up, because not enough people have the vessels to draw Light. The Tzadikim can not do their work and God is taking them from this world.
