Zohar Shelach Lecha

Numbers 13:22
“When they had gone up into the Negev, they came to Hebron where Ahiman, Sheshai and Talmai, the descendants of Anak were.”

The three were healthy and strong giants and the spies got scared when they saw them.
The Zohar reveals that Caleb knew that he must have support to overcome the fear. He took paths that were not for most people just to arrive safe to the cave of the Machpelah in Hebron to pray for the support of the patriarchs.

I heard from Rabbi Nissim Peretz of blessed memory a connection between the Cave of the Machpelah and the YHVH name of Malchut יודההווהה. This name is called the ‘double name’ because of the way the YHVH name is spelled. The י Y is spelled in its only form, which is יוד YVD and הה וו הה, HH VV HH.

The letter י Y is the root and it holds all the levels. The other three letters are doubled to show the parallel of upper and lower. This name controls Malchut and at the same time provides the parallel connection that makes it easy to use and ascend to the upper levels.
The word ‘parallel’ ‘מקביל’ has the same root of the word Kabbalah. Kabbalah by itself is “to receive” and by understanding the root we see that Kabbalah is connection to the upper levels by using the spiritual tools below.
The word Hebron חברון means connection. Hebron is the place that Abraham chose to establish a connection for his soul and those after him, between the upper and lower levels. The Zohar reveals that the entrance to the Garden of Eden is in the Cave of the Machpelah. (Zohar lech Lecha #95). Caleb was wise to seek the support of the patriarchs in the Cave of the Machpelah in Hebron. It gave him protection from the negative aspects of the Land. If fact, we all seek the support of the patriarchs each time we pray the silent prayers, where we always start with connecting to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and their protection.
