Zohar Ha’azinu

The commentary to this Zohar section was inserted also in the previous DZ study and I added additional comments below.

Rabbi Shimon said, How different is this time from the Idra (Idra Rabba, when all the 10 friends were gathered together), in the Idra we were visited by the Holy One Bless be He and his chariot’s angels and this time (now at the Small assembly, Idra Zuta) The Holy One Bless be He came here with the righteous from the Garden of Eden, which didn’t happen in the Idra (Rabba). The Holy One Bless be He wants the honor of the righteous more than his own honor. (The Holy one came to this Idra with the righteous because of the great Light revealed by the merit of Rabbi Shimon. As the heavens opened to welcome Rabbi Shimon his Light radiated throughout all the worlds, from Malchut to Chokmah. The righteous could join this Idra study because Rabbi Shimon was in between both worlds and they could connect on the same level.)

Like it is said in the case of Yerovam, who was offering incense and worship to idols, and the Holy One Bless be He was patient with him (didn’t punish him immediately) but when he pointed his hand toward Iddo, the prophet, his hand dried up, as it said (Kings 1 13:4) and his hand dried up. It is not written that it was because he worshiped idols but because he stretched his hand to harm Iddo, the prophet. And now, the Holy One Bless be He, wants honor for all (the righteous from the Garden of Eden) who came with him.

Following idols is part of the free choice we have to choose between good and bad. The Endless Light flows freely to everyone in this world but when one goes against servants/channels of the Light then YHVH activates the protection system to protect them.

There are many people who live in the illusion of righteousness when they serve their own version of the ‘Holy Temple’. They practice some kind of mixed faith in the Tree of Life, which is the aspect of the Holy Temple and a mix of angels, other faiths, idols etc.  Bringing old beliefs into Kabbalah is very wrong because the Tree of Life is perfect and pure. Any addition or variation is a wrong choice.

Kabbalah is about connecting lower and upper levels to draw Light and life to the world. The king Yerovam run services in the Holy Temple but with idols. He went against the Tree of Life system but God didn’t interfere, giving him opportunity to repent and come back to the Light. When he tried to hurt his messenger, the prophet Iddo,  God stopped him even though he was inside the Holy Temple.

No one can go against the servants of God without hurting themselves. God protects the Tzadikim. God protects the Land of Israel, because it’s the place where God delivers Light to the world. Only Israelites can dwell in the Holy Land and serve as channels of Light for the whole world.

God protects those who serve him by spreading Light in the world. Studying the Zohar makes us channels of Light because the Zohar connects to the upper three Sefirot of the Tree of Life and no other faith or idol can do that.

Be a channel of Light with the study of Zohar, especially if you study it daily, and have its protection as it is said “The Zohar writings is like Noah’s Ark” (Behaalotcha #88)

Remember that not every synagogue is a Holy Temple and not every rabbi or teacher is Rabbi Shimon. Be responsible for your own spiritual purity and do not follow Yerovam and other false ‘kings’ that want you to join their own version of holy temple for their own agenda and pleasures.
