Zohar vayera
Genesis 18:2
“וַיִּשָּׂא עֵינָיו, וַיַּרְא, וְהִנֵּה שְׁלֹשָׁה אֲנָשִׁים, נִצָּבִים עָלָיו; וַיַּרְא, וַיָּרָץ לִקְרָאתָם מִפֶּתַח הָאֹהֶל, וַיִּשְׁתַּחוּ, אָרְצָה”
“When he lifted up his eyes and looked, behold, three men were standing opposite him; and when he saw them, he ran from the tent door to meet them and bowed himself to the earth,”

The Shechina expresses the will of the Creator in this world. It appears in three colors, white, red and green. These colors found in the eyes and we see it as brown color because red and green (green=blue+yellow) make brown color. It is the iris color of most human eyes. The white color contributes to the ‘lightness’ of the color. Green and blue eye colors are when the red color is almost absent.

The three colors represent the three columns of the Tree of Life. The eyes are at the level of Chokmah, which is above the lower seven sefirot of this word. The eyes connect to this world with the right column (white), the Left column (Red) and center (Green).

The three colors are aspects of revealing light in the world. The eye sees only what reflects light from it
The first color, white, chessed, is considered ‘far’ and the eye can’t see it unless it squints a little. The white gives out and is not defined by color because it includes all the colors. To see something, the eye restricts itself.

The sefira of Chessed and the Light is far from Malchut. Through a process of restriction, we can find and follow the path up.

The second color, red, Gevurah, doesn’t have a clear sight. Due to lack of chassadim, the eye needs to close itself and open a little before it can see anything. The Left column is red to represent desire for the self and judgment. It requires complete shutdown of the desires then opening with restriction to be able to get the light under control.

The third color, green, Tiferet, is the radiance that is not seen. The eyes are closed and rolled up to create inclusion of the right and the left. Then the light of the central column is revealed.
