Holy Zohar text. Daily Zohar -963
Hebrew translation:

Tikkun 70 – 68

Isaiah 26:4
“בִּטְחוּ בַיהוָה, עֲדֵי-עַד: כִּי בְּיָהּ יְהוָה, צוּר עוֹלָמִים”
Common corrupted English translation: “Trust ye in the LORD for ever, for the LORD is GOD, an everlasting Rock”
The true translation for the spiritual students of Kabbalah:
“Trust in YHVH for ever, with יה YH , YHVH, forms worlds”

Note: English is a great language to communicate between people. It is about 1500 years old and can never translate the Torah. When you read any translation, you see only one corrupted meaning of the Torah.
English is a beautiful language developed by humans to communicate between each other. There are many beautiful and amazing writings and poetry but it is all at the level of Malchut. It is similar with all other languages.

Kamatz – קָמָץ – יָהָוָהָ – Represents the light of Keter. The upper line is the border with the Endless and the dot under it is a Yod that represents the light from the Endless to create all the worlds below.
In the body: Top of the skull.

Patach – פַתָח – יַהַוַהַ - literally means, ‘opens’ , Chokmah that is a pure channel for Keter and it has no process or restriction in delivering its light.
In the body: Right brain

“Then YHVH ELOHIM formed (וַיִּיצֶר) man”
The word ‘formed’ in Hebrew is spelled irregularly here, with two Yods. It reveals the action of Binah with the Nikkud of Tzerei and the two dots look like two Yods.
Binah is the force that receives the light from Chokmah and brings life and forms everything in the world below.
In the body: Left brain

Segol – סֶגוׂל – יֶהֶוֶהֶ – reveals the aspect of Chessed and the right column.
Exodus 19:5
“ וְעַתָּה, אִם-שָׁמוֹעַ תִּשְׁמְעוּ בְּקֹלִי, וּשְׁמַרְתֶּם, אֶת-בְּרִיתִי–וִהְיִיתֶם לִי סְגֻלָּה מִכָּל-הָעַמִּים, כִּי-לִי כָּל-הָאָרֶץ”
“Now therefore, if ye will hearken unto my voice indeed, and keep My covenant, then ye shall be Mine own treasure (Root is Segol – סְגֻלָּה) from among all peoples; for all the earth is Mine”
This verse represents the love that YHVH has for us when He gave us the Torah for a special and close connection to him.
The three dots imply a connection for Chessed to the upper three Sefirot of Keter, Chokmah and Binah.
In the body: Right Arm
Chariot: Abraham

Sheva – שְבָא – יְהְוְהְ – is for Gevurah and the left column.
Isaiah 66:16
“ כִּי בָאֵשׁ יְהוָה נִשְׁפָּט, וּבְחַרְבּוֹ אֶת-כָּל-בָּשָׂר; וְרַבּוּ, חַלְלֵי יְהוָה.”
“For by fire (letters of Sheva) will YHVH contend, and by His sword with all flesh; and the slain of YHVH shall be many.”
Genesis 29:19
“וַיֹּאמֶר לָבָן, טוֹב תִּתִּי אֹתָהּ לָךְ, מִתִּתִּי אֹתָהּ, לְאִישׁ אַחֵר; שְׁבָה, עִמָּדִי”
“And Laban said: ‘It is better that I give her to thee, than that I should give her to another man; abide (Sheva) with me”
Laban wanted to connect Jacob to the Left column so he asked him to stay with him before giving his daughter to him. This verse also expresses the desire for the self (Laban’s hidden agenda) that is the essence of the Left column. Jacob wanted to connect to Rachel who is the aspect of the Shechina (Malchut) and left side.
In the body: Left arm
Chariot: Isaac

Cholam – חׂלֵם – יֹהֹוֹהֹ - is the central column and Tiferet.
Genesis 49:24
“וַתֵּשֶׁב בְּאֵיתָן קַשְׁתּוֹ, וַיָּפֹזּוּ זְרֹעֵי יָדָיו; מִידֵי אֲבִיר יַעֲקֹב, מִשָּׁם רֹעֶה אֶבֶן יִשְׂרָאֵל ”
“But his bow abode firm, and the arms of his hands were made supple, by the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob, from thence, from the Shepherd, the Stone of Israel”
Jacob is Israel and the Zohar teaches us that the ‘stone of Israel’ is the dot of the Cholam that is above the Letter Vav that represents the central column.
In the body: Torso
Chariot: Jacob, Israel

Chirik – חִרֵק – יִהִוִהִ – is for Netzach. The letters can be read as חקר that means ‘to investigate’ . The Zohar connects Chirik to Ezekiel 1:22
“וּדְמוּת עַל-רָאשֵׁי הַחַיָּה, רָקִיעַ, כְּעֵין, הַקֶּרַח הַנּוֹרָא–נָטוּי עַל-רָאשֵׁיהֶם, מִלְמָעְלָה.”
“And over the heads of the living creatures there was the likeness of a firmament, like the colour of the terrific (נורא) ice (קרח) , stretched forth over their heads above. ”
Netzach comes after Tiferet that is also called ‘Terrific’ and continues the Chessed that is above it on the right column.
In the body: Right leg
Chariot: Moses

Shuruk – שֻרֵק – יֻהֻוֻהֻ - for Hod
Exodus 26:27
“וַחֲמִשָּׁה בְרִיחִם, לְקַרְשֵׁי צֶלַע-הַמִּשְׁכָּן הַשֵּׁנִית; וַחֲמִשָּׁה בְרִיחִם, לְקַרְשֵׁי צֶלַע הַמִּשְׁכָּן, לַיַּרְכָתַיִם, יָמָּה. “
“and five bars for the boards of the other side of the tabernacle, and five bars for the boards (קרש) of the side of the tabernacle, for the hinder part westward”
The word for board is קרש and has the same letters as the Nikkud shuruk and also same as קשר that means connection.
Netzach and Hod are the legs that hold the entire body and like Moses and Aaron, they served God as one. They complete the vessel and hold it together.
In the body: Left leg
Chariot: Aaron

    Shalom Zion,
    thank you for the study;
is there any relation between the dots of סגול/segol -- representing Chessed, and the colour סגול/segol/violet -- representing the colour of transmutation?

Blessings and lots of Light to all,
    Lea

    • avatar Zion Nefesh says:

Lea, I didn’t see any reference in the Zohar or elsewhere to Segol as the color of Chessed and the name Segol for the color Violet.

Violet, ארגמן in Hebrew to be exact, is the color that represent the light that is revealed in Malchut. Black is from the vessel aspect.

      • avatar Lea says:

        Thank you Zion,
for the reply and please forgive my ignorance.

I always heard that tseva/colour segol as meaning violet, purple.
The question came because I know people who work with healing through colours, and they say that violet is a colour with the property to transmute bad situations into good situations.
Of course the question ends here; DZ study is about Zohar and as you well said: in Zohar tseva segol is ארגמן/argaman!

While studying DZ 962 and comparing with DZ 963, I believe I found that the Kubutz and Shuruk were in the wrong Sphere and Nikkud. I am new!!!! Please forgive if I m wrong

    • avatar Zion Nefesh says:

Gwen, you are not wrong and you should give yourself 10 point for noticing. It is not a mistake but I should’ve added a comment to explain this point.
The Zohar uses Shurek Hod and Shurek Yessod (Explanation on time in the next DZ). Modern Hebrew uses Kubutz (pronounced koobootz) for Hod and Shuruk (pronounced Shoorook).

      And you question gives me opportunity to share more;
Both Kubutz and Shuruk have the same sound.
Binah from the upper three is above Chessed and share the same sound of Tzaerei and Segol because they are connected. Hod complete the form of the vessel and is above Yessod. They also share the same sound.
The Sefirot of Zeir Anpin that are not on the central column (Chessed, Gevurah, Netzach and Hod) have only Dots. Tiferet and Yessod get the support of the entire column with the letter Vav.

Always ask questions. You can never be wrong in having a desire to study Zohar.

  3. avatar Gwen says:
