Pinchas 143-145

The Zohar brings a story about Rabbi Elazar, the son of Rabbi Shimon. A wise gentile came to him and said:
“You say that a new Temple will be built for you but there is mention of only two Temples in the Bible. There is no third Temple in the Bible as it says in Haggai 2:9
“גָּדוֹל יִהְיֶה כְּבוֹד הַבַּיִת הַזֶּה הָאַחֲרוֹן, מִן-הָרִאשׁוֹן–אָמַר, יְהוָה צְבָאוֹת; וּבַמָּקוֹם הַזֶּה אֶתֵּן שָׁלוֹם, נְאֻם יְהוָה צְבָאוֹת.”
“The glory of this latter house shall be greater than that of the former, saith YHVH of hosts; and in this place will I give peace, saith YHVH of hosts.’ ”

Second question:
“You claim to be closer to the ‘King’, YHVH more than all the other nations of the world. That should put you in a state of happiness, worry and trouble free but the fact is that you are always in sorrow with pain and suffering more than any other nation in the world.
We are happy and blessed so we are the ones closer to the ‘King’ and you are far from him. That is why you have all that sufferings.

Third question:
“You don’t eat every animal but the one that is pure and slaughtered properly so you can have a healthy body. We eat anything we like without restriction. We are strong and healthy and all of our body parts exist in good conditions.
You are all weak; suffer from all kind of diseases more than all other nations. God hates you in all aspects. You are an old man and I don’t want to hear you or accept any answer from you”

The ‘wise’ gentile finished his words. Rabbi Elazar just looked at him and the gentile turned into a pile of bones.

Many people on their path of life struggle with these questions and identify with the gentile’s questions.

The only thing that he was deadly wrong was the dependency on the physical aspect of life as a reward from God.
Rabbi Elazar respected his wish and didn’t say a word but he did give the answer. His look ‘vaporized’ the physical existence out of that person. Without any physical force, he controlled physicality.

I don’t need to repeat many lessons we discussed here on the Daily Zohar about the true purpose of this life. We all should work on purifying our soul and be ready for the next world when we will be able to control matter with our mind.
All material and physical things are only used to serve the soul in becoming pure, better and bigger.

And for those who are still looking for the answers here they are:

The third Temple will not be built by us in the lower world but will come down from heavens. It is part of the promised Final Redemption.
We suffer to nullify the desire of the body for itself and to have greater awareness to the spiritual connection.
Food represents spiritual energies. We do not eat what ever ‘corrupts’ the stability of our soul.

Did you ask your self why Rabbi Elazar didn’t or couldn’t vaporize the gentile’s bones?
