Pinchas 373-374

Rabbi Shimon asked Moses to continue his explanation and reveal the secret he started before. He points to Moses that all the head teachers of the schools in the heavens and of the schools below are invited to listen.

They are all ready with joy to listen and study from the mouth of Moses. Rabbi Shimon continues to say that the joy and happiness that this study brings will awaken light of Redemption above and below.

How and why did Rabbi Shimon ask Moses to reveal more secrets?

The words of Rabbi Shimon have the power to create vessels and channels of Light. The ‘Faithful Shepherd’, Moses, never revealed secrets to Rabbi Shimon unless Rabbi Shimon started ‘digging’ the subject. In this case, Rabbi Shimon ‘invites’ Moses to reveal more by giving him good reasons to continue. Mentioning the heads of the upper and lower levels created channels of light from upper to lower levels. Specifying their desire for joy and light of redemption creates vessels that the light must fill and Moses is happy to channel.

We should learn to create vessel for the light by having desire to learn and by asking questions. True desire is like a magnet and Light will come to fulfill it.

We should also know not to ‘push’ our spiritual wisdom on others. If they don’t have the vessel for it, then they wont ‘get’ it. We may ask them questions to awaken their desire to know and bring their own questions. We then give them answers (=Light) ONLY to the questions (=vessels) that they raise. Everyone has his own pace or capabilities to understand spiritual subjects. Some look for answers to many questions at the same time. To help them in the process, we provide answers but pause to ask them questions to know if they are capable of handling more light.

If one has been starving for a week we cannot push a weeks worth of food into his mouth at once. We should give him the food in small bites allowing him to expand his vessel in the process. Pushing a lot too fast would cause him to reject the good and throw up.
