Zohar V’Zot Habracha

Deuteronomy 33:1
”And this is the blessing that Moses, the man of God, blessed the children of Israel before his death”
V’zot Habracha is the name of the final portion of the Torah. It means ‘this is the blessings…’ Kabbalah explains that this is the level of Malchut of Malchut, which the Light is fully manifested.

The first verse has twelve words. It connects us to all the blessings that the Israelites received from God through Moses. The Zohar tells us that the first letter ”ו”, Vav, is the aspect of Zeir Anpin, the Light, and ”זֹאת”, ‘this’ is the aspect of Malchut, the Vessel. The first word also has the numerical value of 414, which is equivalent to twice the value of the word ”אור” ‘Light’. The following 3 letters ”הבר” also have the value to 207, for ”אור“, ‘Light’. The next two with value of 25 , ‘כה’, are the aspect of the Shechina that the Zohar section above discusses.

There are three streams of Lights revealed with the first seven letters of the portion to bring this ultimate manifestation of the Light in balance.
In the blessings of the Kohanim (Priests in the Holy Temple), G-d instructs the priests to bless the Israelites with the word ”כֹּה” Numbers (6:23) ”דַּבֵּר אֶל-אַהֲרֹן וְאֶל-בָּנָיו לֵאמֹר, כֹּה תְבָרְכוּ אֶת-בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל: אָמוֹר, לָהֶם“. The seed of the blessing is in the word ”כֹּה“. After that (numbers 6:24,25,26) come the three verses that begin with the Letter ”י“ ,”יְבָרֶכְךָ“ ”יָאֵר”, and ”יִשָּׂא” that draw down the three levels of Light for the right, left and central columns.

The twelve words create the channels to the 12 tribes, and the twelve months of the year. We always read this portion on Simchat Torah, the eighth day of Sukkoth. We know that the Eighth connects us to the level of Binah, the full revelation of Light on this world. This is also the only portion that is read completely on a weekday, unless Simchat Torah falls on Shabbat. That explains the great Light and blessings that can be manifested even if the portion is not read on Shabbat.
