Zohar Shoftim

DZ 1904

The false witnesses on Israel are the Sam-el and the Snake. They come to testify that the Israelites separated the letters Vav ו, which is the aspect of Zeir Anpin and the letter ז that is the aspect of Malchut.

The Israelites were chosen to be the nation that connects Zeir Anpin and Malchut and reveals that Light in the world.

Isaiah 43:21
vav-zayin
“the people whom I formed for myself that they might declare my praise.”
(Sorry but the English translation doesn’t reveal the connection of the Hebrew letters to the nation/people).

The Zohar reveals that when we burn the Chametz on Pesach we burn the Klipot that holds to the connection of the Vav (Z”A, numerically 6) and Zayin (Malchut, numerically 7). We burn the Chametz between the sixth and seventh hours after the day started.

This is significant because we know that the first sin was after the sixth hour of the day. The Snake didn’t want Adam and Eve to make the perfect unification to Malchut. He ‘inserted’ himself between the sixth and the seventh. He corrupted the connection between Adam (Man, Zeir Anpin) and Eve (Female, Malchut) and brought mortality to the world.

The six days were created for us to work and prepare our vessels for the Light of Shabbat. We should keep the Snake away from our Shabbat connection by following the basic requirements of: rest from work, candle lighting and Kabbalat Shabbat, three meals, Torah and Zohar reading,
