Zohar Chaye Sarah

When Eve came to the world she connected to the Snake that injected her with his impurities, and the outcome was mortality in the world and to Adam, her husband.
Genesis 13:1
“So Abram went up from Egypt to the Negev, he and his wife and all that belonged to him, and Lot with him.”

When Sarah went down to Egypt it was under control of the other side, she ‘went up’ from Egypt and it means that she kept her purity even among the Klipot of the other side. Her spiritual state was elevated and because of that she merited ‘Life’ in this world and the world to come..

Genesis 23:1
“And the life of Sarah were one hundred year and twenty year and seven years; these were the two lives of Sarah.”

Lessons:
Rosh Hashanah is a day that we go through judgment process because of the sin of Adam and Eve. Sarah made a correction to that sin when she didn’t give in to Pharaoh’s seductions. That is one of the reasons why we read from the Torah on that day the story about the pure life Sarah brought to the world. On the next day of Rosh Hashanah we read about the binding of Isaac, when Abraham took his son, Isaac, elevating him with his love and submission to the will of God. He received the mercy of YHVH and Isaac received a renewed life.

When we come to this life, we are put into ‘Egypt’. It is the aspect of the desire for the self alone, dependency and bondage to the material world.
During our lifetime we need to fight all temptations of the material world and keep our souls pure and corrected so we can have the merit to have the Life that we had in the Garden of Eden before the sin.
Unfortunately many people cling to the material world as a goal and not as means to advance the soul to the higher state. When the soul is elevated with purity, it will have immortality when and after all the Pharaohs of the world are removed by Mashiach.

There are people who give their lives to achieve more in the material aspect of this world and at the end they die in it.

There are those people who use the material world to earn a ticket to immortal life in the world to come. They don’t die in this world but go into a sleep state until the Resurrection.

This is how to go up from ‘Egypt’.
