Zohar Vayechi

The Zohar explains that if the children of Jacob had kept their righteous ways then none of them would have died in Egypt.

The verse below is what King David told his son, Solomon, before he passed away. It’s similar to what Jacob told his children but they didn’t listen.

1 Kings 2:4
“so that YHVH may carry out His promise which He spoke concerning me, saying, ‘If your sons are careful of their way, to walk before Me in truth with all their heart and with all their soul, you shall not lack a man on the throne of Israel.’”

The Zohar adds that even if God promises good to a person it’s still conditional. The condition comes from the understanding of, “so that YHVH may carry out His promise which He spoke”.
Many people feel ‘blessed’ with wealth, health, and other pleasures of this world but they forget that they can lose everything in an instant. The rich and famous can’t buy insurance against ‘acts of God’. Even if they pay high premium and get compensated for serious damage, they would prefer to give the money just to go back to ‘normal’.
It’s a great spiritual advantage to be rich because one can do a lot to share and help many others. The best way to keep your gifts and blessings is to share it (10% to 20%) and keep daily spiritual connections with prayers and Zohar.
