Zohar Tzav
The Zohar discuss the three main types of sacrifices that corrects aspects of the three columns.
Burnt offering – Right
Sin offering – Left
Guilt offering – Central column
Burnt offering is not eaten like most of the offerings. It is burnt completely, except the hide/skin, on the altar. This type of offering can be brought voluntary
I won;t get into the details of the process the Torah and Zohar describe but for our understanding we should know that the spiritual technology that involves the handling of the different offerings is very complicated. It’s not a simple action of slaughtering the animal and or placing it on the altar. There’s a lot of important details related to the direction, handling of blood, what part can be eaten and what’s not.
The world was created under strict rules of cause and effect. Whatever wrong we do, takes it out of balance. God gave us mercy through the aspect of time, giving us opportunities to repent and correct ourselves before the effect of the sins we do manifest.
Every type of sin/inequity creates different spiritual flaw in us and in the environment. There were different types of sacrifices to correct the sin of the people in general and sacrifices for individuals.
Many people don’t feel comfortable with the description of the Torah related to the animal sacrifices. To understand that I’d like to give the example of a person who was imprisoned for a period of time for his wrong doing. He would count the days until he is released and would do his best to shorten the process.
We are in a prison of life in a body and we have a free choice to do good or bad. If we don’t correct ourselves before we leave the world oursoul could reincarnate in animals. The Kosher/pure animals have souls that in their process of correction and need proper slaughtering to release their soul back for reincarnation in human. When reincarnating in a living creature that is not human the process of correction is relatively short and won’t get the soul in additional trouble because the animal doesn’t have free choice. The soul that incarnated in an animal would love to finish its tikkun and move to life in human to better itself with the gift of free choice.
It was known that the animals that were brought for sacrifice in the Holy Temple were moving in line willingly awaiting their turn to be slaughtered.
Nowadays we do not have the Holy Temple to support our cleansing and we have other options to replace the different offerings to help us cleanse our souls and environment.
We’ll discuss it further in the following DZ studies.
