Zohar Ki Tetze
#58
The Mitzvah that comes after is about fish and grasshoppers. Fish (in the water) and some kinds of grasshoppers (on land) require no slaughtering. The process of gathering them permits them for eating. Fish is surrounded by water that is chassadim. The righteous and scholars of Torah are considered as fish in the water. They are saved from the ‘slaughtering’ of the Angel of Death because of their purity. They adhere to the ways of the Torah and protected by it. If a ‘fish’ is out of the water, he dies. Without the study of Zohar that is the higher level of Torah studies, we are without life energy and protection.
Those on land that wish to swim in the water need qualified teachers with pure knowledge of Kabbalah. They can teach how to swim in the water and stay alive even when there are predators (negative influence) in the water. It is our responsibility to find a pure and reliable guide to teach us the survival skills while in the water, avoiding traps and predators.
#59
When the scholars of Torah that are considered as big and powerful sea creatures have arguments among them, one may swallow another, like a big fish swallows a smaller fish in the water. Those who are equally strong respect each other and their arguments can lead them to love each other.
The lesson here is to connect to a pure Kabbalah teacher that follows the ways of the Torah. There are many charlatans rabbis and teachers that take advantage of the ignorance of most people. They use Kabbalistic terms to impress and influence others to believe in them and join their school. They present themselves as ‘big fish’, attract more followers into their ‘sea’ but swallow their energy, puking them later to the land when they have no value for them. These lost small fish should immediately seek a pure teacher to swim in fresh and pure water of life. If one feels that his teacher is not pure and at the same time he loves to swim with the other fish in his school, he should share and join the group’s energy, avoiding being swallowed by the big fish.
