#50
Isaiah 33:7
“הֵן, אֶרְאֶלָּם, צָעֲקוּ, חֻצָה; מַלְאֲכֵי שָׁלוֹם, מַר יִבְכָּיוּן.”
“Behold, the angels cry in the outer realm, The angels of peace weep bitterly.”
The destruction of the Holy Temple, severed the connection of Malchut to the upper Light, which is the upper nine sefirot. Before the destruction Malchut was like a crown on the king’s head or as the Zohar describes, at the of the top of the Tree.
The angels cried about the loss of the connection to the lower world. The King is at the level of Atzilut, where there’s no sadness of expression of pain but the angels (אֶרְאֶלָּם) cried ‘out’, which is as the Zohar explains (Shemot #310), is the worlds of Briah (Creation ה), Yetzirah (Formation ו) and Asiah (Action ה) that are ‘outside’ Atzilut. The angels of peace from Binah ה weep bitterly because of the lost connection to the ה of Malchut. Without a continuous flow of light from the higher level Malchut is without peace.

Isaiah 22:12
“וַיִּקְרָא, אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה צְבָאוֹת–בַּיּוֹם הַהוּא: לִבְכִי, וּלְמִסְפֵּד, וּלְקָרְחָה, וְלַחֲגֹר שָׂק”
“Therefore in that day YHVH GOD of hosts called you to weeping, to wailing, To shaving the head and to wearing sackcloth.”
The destruction of the Holy temple called for mourning and sadness.
Proverbs 11:10
“בְּטוּב צַדִּיקִים, תַּעֲלֹץ קִרְיָה; וּבַאֲבֹד רְשָׁעִים רִנָּה”
“When it goes well with the righteous, the city rejoices, And when the wicked perish, there is joyful shouting.”
But at the time that God judge the evil to be removed from the world then there is joy. The wicked and evil of the world are given opportunities to repent. After they exhaust the time for repentance then God executes their punishment.
The Holy One Blessed be He has no joy if the wicked lost before they had their time, losing opportunities to repent.
The verse above gives us hope with the presence of Tzadikim that do a holy work and connect us to the Light when we don’t have the Holy Temple.
The wicked with their actions cause God’s anger because there is an automated cause and effect in the world. We are all affected by their evil. God’s mercy allow them to continue giving them opportunities to repent.
Lesson: On the individual level we should remember that without connection to the light, our soul weeps inside. The joy of the soul is when the body, which is the aspect of ‘wicked’ follows the ways of the Light or when the soul is released with the death of the ‘wicked’.
Best way to ‘teach’ the wicked to follow the light is to do a day fast (from morning rise to sundown) on every Erev Rosh Chodesh (Usually 29th of the Hebrew month). On this day we have the support of all the Tzadikim and we can light candles and pray with their support.
