Zohar Lech Lecha
Genesis 12:4
” So Abram went, as YHVH had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him; and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran.”
Abram ‘went’ after God told him ‘Lech Lecha’ to get out of his country, homeland and the house of his father. Rabbi Aba says that this verse came after Abram already left Haran and mentioning him leaving Haran seems to be unnecessary but nevertheless since God already told him to go and he is on the path, it’s okay to mention that he left Haran when he was 75 years old.

Genesis 12:5
“Abram took Sarai his wife and Lot his nephew, and all their possessions which they had accumulated, and the souls which they had made in Haran, and they set out for the land of Canaan; thus they came to the land of Canaan.”
The Zohar asks why Abram ‘took’ his wife when a man is not allowed to force his wife to move with him to a new land. She must give permission before. The Zohar explains that Abraham already talked to her and explained the negativity of the people of that generations and it’s their time to move.

“And Lot his Nephew”
The Zohar reveals that Abram saw in divine spirit that from Lot will come King David so he took him with them.
“and the souls which they had made in Haran”
Those were the people that Abraham and Sarah converted. They were considered as if Abraham and his wife had made them.
