74. וְאִם לִבְנוֹ יִיעָדֶנָּה כְּמִשְׁפַּט הַבָּנוֹת יַעֲשֶׂה לָּהּ. אָמַר אוֹתוֹ זָקֵן, חֲבֵרִים, כְּשֶׁתֵּלְכוּ לְאוֹתוֹ הַסֶּלַע שֶׁהָעוֹלָם סָמוּךְ עָלָיו, אִמְרוּ לוֹ שֶׁיִּזְכֹּר אֶת יוֹם הַשֶּׁלֶג שֶׁנִּזְרְעוּ פּוֹלִים לַחֲמִשִּׁים וּשְׁנַיִם גְּוָנִים, וְאַחַר כָּךְ קִרְאוּ אֶת הַפָּסוּק הַזֶּה, וְהוּא יֹאמַר לָכֶם.
75. אָמְרוּ, בְּבַקָּשָׁה מִמְּךָ, מִי שֶׁהִתְחִיל אֶת הַדָּבָר – הוּא שֶׁיֹּאמַר! אָמַר לָהֶם, וַדַּאי שֶׁיָּדַעְתִּי שֶׁאַתֶּם צַדִּיקִים, וְיֵשׁ לִרְמֹז לָכֶם רֶמֶז שֶׁל חֲכָמִים. וְעַל מַה שֶּׁאֲנִי אוֹמֵר, כְּשֶׁתַּזְכִּירוּ לוֹ סִימָן זֶה, הוּא יַשְׁלִים אֶת זֶה. עַכְשָׁו יֵשׁ לוֹמַר מִי הוּא שֶׁנִּקְרָא בֵּן לַקָּדוֹשׁ-בָּרוּךְ-הוּא.
76. בֹּא וּרְאֵה, כָּל מִי שֶׁהוּא זוֹכֶה לִשְׁלֹשׁ עֶשְׂרֵה שָׁנִים וָמַעְלָה, נִקְרָא בֵּן לִכְנֶסֶת יִשְׂרָאֵל. וְכָל מִי שֶׁהוּא מִבֶּן עֶשְׂרִים שָׁנָה וָמַעְלָה וְזוֹכֶה בָהֶם, נִקְרָא בֵּן לַקָּדוֹשׁ-בָּרוּךְ-הוּא וַדַּאי. (דברים יד) בָּנִים אַתֶּם לַה’ אֱלֹהֵיכֶם.

Exodus 21:9
“וְאִם-לִבְנוֹ, יִיעָדֶנָּה–כְּמִשְׁפַּט הַבָּנוֹת, יַעֲשֶׂה-לָּהּ”
“If he designates her for his son, he shall deal with her as with a daughter.”
The ‘elder’ sends the students, Rabbi Chiya and Rabbi Yosei, to the ‘rock’ that the world is leaning on. He was referring to rabbi Shimon that would explain them this verse and the aspect of ‘son’.
He tells them to mention to him the day of snow when beans were planted in 52 ways.
The ‘day of snow’ is judgments that comes from the control of the Left. ‘Planting’ is the concealment of Light that becomes great revelation, like planting fine wheat grains in the ground. They disappear, get rotten, then turn and grow as 100 folds.
The word for ‘beans’ is ‘פולים’ that means ‘falling’, and that is the ‘planting’ that was made when Malchut elevated to Binah in the Creation process. This process made Binah and the levels below her to fall to the level below Binah. 52 ways is the aspect of son, ‘בן’ with numerical value of 52.
The ‘elder’ found difficulty to refer to ‘his son’ in the verse as to the ‘son of God’ because there are not aspects of Father and sons in the supreme levels. For that reason, he sent them to Rabbi Shimon.
The connection between the levels of Chokmah and Binah formed the aspect of Father and Mother and the level of Zeir Anpin below is called the ‘son’ because it is the continuation of Light from Father and Mother.

The students ask the ‘elder’ to continue with his explanation. He told them that because they are righteous with merits, he’s giving them a hint, a sign to share with Rabbi Shimon. The hint is that he need to explain what is called ‘son’ for the Holy One Blessed Be He.

Deuteronomy 14:1
“בָּנִים אַתֶּם לַיהוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם”
“”You are the sons of YHVH your God;”
Those who turned 13 years old, are called sons to Malchut. Those of 20 years or older and have the merits are called sons to Zeir Anpin.
There are different Lights that the soul can receive through time of growth. At age 13, boys are able to receive additional light to their souls that give them greater connection to Malchut. They are now able to follow the Torah and earn merits for themselves. They can receive the level of Neshamah from the lower part of Zeir Anpin. At age 20 or older, usually after marriage, a man can earn merits and light of Chaya, the highest level that the soul can achieve. It comes from the supreme Father and Mother.
