Zohar Balak
#111
We start our main prayer with “בָּרְכוּ אֶת ה’ הַמְבֹרָךְ”, “Blessed YHVH the blessed”
With the words ‘בָּרְכוּ אֶת’ of this blessing we connect Malchut to the source of all blessings (Zohar Teruma #169). The word ‘את’ has the first and last letters of the Hebrew Alef-Bet and they represent the connection of the beginning and the end/purpose of Creation/Malchut.
After this blessing that connects and draw the light from Binah, we continue with our prayers.
Psalms 17:15
“אֲנִי בְּצֶדֶק אֶחֱזֶה פָנֶיךָ אֶשְׂבְּעָה בְהָקִיץ תְּמוּנָתֶךָ.”
“With righteousness I will come to see your face; I will be satisfied with Your image when I awake.”
King David express his desire for the Light and tells us how he comes closer to the Light.
‘With righteousness’ is the aspect of the purity of Malchut that when coming to connect to Zeir Anpin.
#112
For the above reason of ‘with righteousness’, we shouldn’t bless another person until we pray and draw the Light from above. Blessing another person draw that person’s energy above the head and it affects our day.
Even if one pray in a minyan every morning, he should make the morning blessings before leaving home. Women should do at least the 18 morning blessings and the Shema Israel before leaving home.
It’s better to avoid even simple work at home before praying. We pray first to draw light into everything we do. When we start early morning with proper blessings, we have the support we need. We also don’t eat or drink before finishing the morning prayer or at least after reading the Shema Israel prayer. Only after we nourish the soul we feed the body because if we reverse priorities then the body and evil inclination have greater control over our actions.
