Zohar Shelach

#91
Numbers 14:17
“”But now, I pray, let the power of the Lord be great, just as You have declared,”
The Light of the concealed Chokmah from Arich Anpin (Keter) comes to the brain that is Chokmah, Father. The brain continues the Light to the Heart through Binah, Mother. This is the ‘the power of the Lord’ that Moses ask for when he pleaded to God for the Israelites that followed the evil speech of the ten spies. Moses asked for this Light to ‘be great’ so it will flow from the upper levels of Keter, Arich. The word ‘Arich’ for Arich Anpin means ‘long face’ because it relates to the complete height of Keter. The name also means ‘mercy’ and ‘healing’. Moses asked for this Light to be revealed to avoid the harsh judgment that caused by the spies. He also mentions the thirteen attributes of God that come from the Concealed Chokmah of Keter. Moses continues with ‘just as You have declared’, and bring the thirteen attributes of God (Numbers 14:18).
YHVH is slow to anger and abundant in lovingkindness, forgiving iniquity and transgression; but He will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generations.’”

#92
Rabbi Yitzchak says that the word ‘Truth’ that is one of the thirteen attributes that revealed in the portion of Ki Tisa is missing in the portion of Shelach Lecha.

Exodus 34:6,7 (Ki Tisa)
“Then YHVH passed by in front of him and proclaimed, “YHVH, YHVH God, compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in lovingkindness and truth;”
“who keeps loving kindness for thousands, who forgives iniquity, transgression, and sin; yet He will by no means leaves the guilty unpunished, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children and on the grandchildren to the third and fourth generations.””
Rabbi Chiya explains that the spies caused the word ‘Truth’ to be missing with other related attributes that Moses couldn’t say here because of their lies.
God replied to Moses;
Numbers 14:20
“So YHVH said, “I have pardoned them according to your word;”
The sages of the Talmud teach us that a person is ‘measured’ in the same ‘measure’ he uses. This spiritual law was implemented here when the forgiveness from God was strict ‘according to your (Moses’s) word’.

Lesson;
Personal prayers are not part of the regular prayers but the sages allow us to inject in few places a personal wish and or during special holidays personal wish.
Our prayers include many praises to God and description of his action and power over this world. The reason is simple and we learn it from this Zohar study. When Moses describes the attributes of God, saying “YHVH is slow to anger and abundant in lovingkindness, forgiving iniquity and transgression” he actually make a connection to these levels and draw that light of forgiveness to this world. That is why God replied immediately. “I have pardoned them according to your word;”.
Our prayers always include some aspects of the thirteen attributes, the 22 Hebrew letters in the correct sequence, praises to God (Chapters from Psalms) and the silent prayer when we ‘bless’ God for his different powers that sustain this world. See link below to English translation of this prayer on Chabad.org website.

Before we ask God to support our needs, we should connect to the sources of Light that can bring the proper light and fulfill our needs. Reading Psalms and studying Zohar is a fast way to connect higher as well as giving Tzedakah.
