#140
Rabbi Shimon heard the questions and answered that “YHVH comes from Mount Sinai” is like when God told Moses on Mount Sinai “I will come to you in a thick cloud”.
Exodus 19:9
“YHVH said to Moses, “Behold, I will come to you in a thick cloud, so that the people may hear when I speak with you and may also believe in you forever.” Then Moses told the words of the people to YHVH.”

God came to Mount Sinai and revealed himself to them at the event of giving the Torah. “And dawned on them from Seir” (#139 above) means that God came to the children of Israel after the children of Esau rejected the Torah. Then he came from Paran after the children of Ishmael rejected the Torah. Each time the Torah has rejected the Light and love for the Israelites increased.

#141
As for the question related to the way God revealed himself to them when offering the Torah, Rabbi Shimon says that the question revealed a supernal secret. The Torah came from Binah that is in the concealed head of the Kings. It came first to the Left arm that is Isaac and Gevurah. The Holy One Blessed be he saw that the Left has bad blood that is Esau and Sam-el, the minister of the other-side.
It was a flaw that God said it should be corrected before it corrupts everything else.

#142 (Aramaic text in the next DZ.)
God called Sam-el, the minister of Esau, and asked him if he wants the Torah. Sam-el asked about what’s in the Torah and God skipped to the place that is most difficult for Sam-l to accept and said; “You shall not kill”. Sam-el rejected it and begged God not to give it to him because if he follows the Torah, it will be the end of him. He claims that he is responsible for wars and the control of planet Mars and following the Torah would block him from doing his duties that are based on blood-shed. That would remove his control from the world.

Lesson;
In paragraph #141 Rabbi Shimon tells the students that the question revealed a supernal secret. It’s essential for us to know that asking questions has the aspects of forming vessels and digging wells. When we ‘dig’ in the Torah we ‘break’ the Klipah/surface and reveal Light that is nourishment for us in this world. Digging requires little efforts and the ‘water’/Light that comes up is something new.
Torah students in a Yeshiva study most of the day, sitting in pairs or small groups, reading the sacred text and raising questions. The process of discussing the questions and answers reveals great Light.
The Hebrew letters and words have spiritual roots and only when we ‘dig’ into the verses and its words, we reveal the concealed light. For that reason, the Daily Zohar quotes the entire verse, even when the Zohar makes just a short reference to it.
