Tikkun 21 – 113
(Continuing previous Daily Zohar subject # 366 on)

When the Israelites came out of Egypt, the mix multitude, which is the Erev Rav, joined them. Moses knew the negative consequences of allowing them to join the Israelites on the way to the Promised Land. He also knew that without overcoming their negative influence, the Tikkun of the Israelites could not be completed.

When the fish swallowed Jonah, it was meant to bring his level of Nefesh (Blood) to its lower level (Liver, Spleen and Bile) to rid the negativity.

Exodus 6:9

“And Moses spoke so, to the children of Israel; but they hearkened not unto Moses for short of spirit (Ruach), and for hard work.”

The short spirit, which is the soul level of Ruach and hard work, are the effects of falling to lower levels of the material world. This is the aspect of the Liver that processes the material elements in the body.

When we get ‘trapped’ in the material world we let the liver work harder because the soul falls to a lower level and that increases the gravity of the liver.

Pharaoh represented the control over the physical world and the aspect of the liver in the body.

“And YHVH said to Moses: ‘Pharaoh’s heart is stubborn (=heavy= כָּבֵד=liver), he refuses to let the people go”

“Let heavier (כְבַּד = liver) work be laid upon the men, that they may labor therein; ”

Pharaoh increased the work on the Israelites so they would be busy with it and not with Moses and the light.

When the liver increases its gravity on the soul, it can’t go higher and connect to the light.
