Holy Zohar text. Daily Zohar -388.

Tikkun 21 – 129

The smoke that goes up from the sacrifices is Ketoret for the light. When the offerings were brought to the altar, a fire came down from above to burn it. The smoke made the connection between the light and the vessel and allowed it to flow down without negativity.
In the previous Daily Zohar we described how Moses asked Aaron to take from the fire on the altar to burn the incense in order to stop the plague that was killing the Israelites.

The Shechina, Malchut, is Ketoret for the Light, Zeir Anpin. Our positive actions and restriction on selfish desires are like sacrifices that provide a way to draw the light to Malchut.

Leviticus 16:3 “ בְּזֹאת יָבֹא אַהֲרֹן, אֶל-הַקֹּדֶשׁ”
“With that one shall Aaron come into the holy place”

When the high priest comes into the Holy of Holies, he focuses his work on connecting the light to Malchut, which is coded in the word זאת, ‘that one’.

He was required to carry the Ketoret into the Holy of Holies so the smoke would cover the inner place where the Ark is. Without this process the High Priest would die. The Ketoret creates the channel for YHVH to appear over the Ark.
Leviticus 16:2 “…כִּי בֶּעָנָן, אֵרָאֶה עַל-הַכַּפֹּרֶת.”
“for I appear in the cloud upon the ark-cover.”
