Holy Zohar text. Daily Zohar -658

Tikkun 48 – 4

From the teaching of the Sages; “מי שטרח בערב שבת יאכל בשבת”, “Who makes the effort before Shabbat, will eat on Shabbat”

The work we do on the six days is a preparation of the vessel for Shabbat. Our work on our tikkun cleanses the soul and increases the vessel and on Shabbat we receive the desired and deserved light.

The are three aspects in the process and they are described by the Zohar as Dress, Candle and food.

Dress – We dress our selves with clean and better cloths to represent our readiness and appreciation for the light of Shabbat. Spiritually we should have the consciousness of being dressed by the light of Binah. Men, as channels, are dressed in white to have affinity with that type of sharing energy.

Candle – The house should be lit with new ‘candles’. On a physical level we use better lighting to have a better feeling of Shabbat. Spiritually we should focus on receiving the light.

Food – The three Shabbat meals connect us to the three columns and channel the light of Binah to our soul. It is good to have special Shabbat meals by the dinner table and not in front of the TV or while reading the ‘dark’ newspaper. With proper meditation and Zohar scanning, we ‘digest’ the light of Shabbat into our blood system where the soul resides.

First meal is on Friday night after receiving the light of Shabbat. It connects us to the Shechina and the aspect of the left column.

Second meal is on Saturday morning after the prayers and listening to the Torah reading. Preferably before noon time in order to connect to the meal in the frame of Chessed of the day. It is the aspect of the right column.

Third meal is at late afternoon just before sundown. It is the central column and contains the complete energy of Shabbat. It is the highest level of Shabbat and a good time for personal wish and healing meditation.
