Tikkun 62 – 2

Genesis 18:25
“חָלִלָה לְּךָ מֵעֲשֹׂת כַּדָּבָר הַזֶּה, לְהָמִית צַדִּיק עִם-רָשָׁע, וְהָיָה כַצַּדִּיק, כָּרָשָׁע; חָלִלָה לָּךְ–הֲשֹׁפֵט כָּל-הָאָרֶץ, לֹא יַעֲשֶׂה מִשְׁפָּט.”
“That be far from Thee to do after this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked, that so the righteous should be as the wicked; that be far from Thee; shall not the Judge of all the earth do justly?”

This verse that the Zohar quotes, is from the story of Sodom and Gemora. Abraham is negotiating with God about saving the city where his brother, Lot, is living.

Lot was considered righteous among the inhabitants of the evil city and Abraham is trying to save the city by the merit of his brother.

Abraham failed because there were not any other righteous people in the city and negativity was already spread. The city could not be saved at this point. But Lot could leave the city unharmed if he disconnected himself from it totally. He couldn’t even look back because otherwise he would die. His wife didn’t follow the life saving instruction and she turned into a pillar of salt that represents the desire for the self.

The Zohar asks “How can a person hide and protect himself from judgments and the negative side?” and answers by quoting Psalms 91:1
“יֹשֵׁב, בְּסֵתֶר עֶלְיוֹן; בְּצֵל שַׁדַּי, יִתְלוֹנָן”
“O thou that dwellest in the covert of the Most High , and abidest in the shadow of the Almighty (שדי); ”

If we dwell in the secrets of the supernal, which is the deep study of Torah through the Zohar, we get the protection of שַׁדַּי. This name is the aspect of God that gives us protection on the lower level. We put this name on the Mezuzah that we place on our door posts to protect the entrance to our homes and every room in it.

Abraham was connected to the YHVH system and was always under its protection. There was no negativity in his environment. He also did not go into the city to take his brother out but the two angels that came to destroy the city did it for him.

We should disconnect ourselves from all negativity. If we are unable to transform it into positivity, then we shouldn’t stay there even for one moment. We should also avoid looking at negative situations because it affects our soul. Accidents on the road, people in a fight, conflicts and especially TV news. It is mostly about negative issues. Watching such news, connect us to the negative aspect of it. This knowledge (connection) is bad for the health of our soul and body. If the news is so important then you will hear it everywhere. You should not be the first to know. Whatever the eyes see makes a spiritual connection that affects us sooner or later.
