Holy Zohar text. Daily Zohar -996

Tikkun 70 – 101

Isaiah 40:12
“מִי-מָדַד בְּשָׁעֳלוֹ מַיִם, וְשָׁמַיִם בַּזֶּרֶת תִּכֵּן, וְכָל בַּשָּׁלִשׁ, עֲפַר הָאָרֶץ; וְשָׁקַל בַּפֶּלֶס הָרִים, וּגְבָעוֹת בְּמֹאזְנָיִם. ”
“Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance? ”

The source of water, meaning Chokmah , comes down and ‘irrigates’ all the branches off the Tree that are the lower Sefirot.
Each Sefira gets the proper measure of water/light it needs, in order to fulfill its role in the whole system.
The first word of the verse מִי , ‘who’, is numerically 50 and implies Binah.

The word for water is מים , numerically 90 and is the aspect of the nine Sefirot of Light. The first letter is an open מ and the aspect of Yessod that is the fountain of life. The last letter ם is the final form of the first letter מ. ם is the source of water and the middle letter י Yod is the light that comes from Binah to nourish the lower levels.

The secret of the Mikveh is in the word מים, water.

The Zohar shows us this image and explains that in the middle we have the final Mem ם . The upper name of אלף-הה-יוד-הה has the numerical value 151 of Mikveh, מקוה . Four sides for the four letters of ה are in that name (From the commentary of ‘Matok Midvash’, מתוק מדבש). Each side has 3×3 =9 dots (Sefirot) and by adding the middle one that connects all of them, we get 10 and 40 like in 4 י Yod in total.

The water volume in a mikveh should be no less than סאה40 ‘Seah’ . It is a biblical measurement unit and according to Maimonides one Seah equals to 7.2 liter so when we multiply by 40 we get 288 liters (1 litter = 33.81 fl oz). Seah is also the volume of 144 eggs. 288 is רפח and the number of light sparks that we need to correct in the world in order to bring the final redemption and immortality.
[blockquote align=”left” cite=””]Rabbi Abraham Azulai wrote in his book “Chessed L’avraham” that the secret of the Mikveh connect us to the Final Redemption and the Resurrection. He was referring to the verse from Zachariah’s prophecy (13:2) “I will cause the unclean spirit to pass out of the land” that we recite before immersing in the Mikveh. [/blockquote]
288 is the minimum volume to connect upper and lower waters and bring spiritual cleansing when immersing in the Mikveh. The standard Mikveh contains 1000 liters or more of water.

Next time you immerse yourself in the Mikveh meditate to have the ‘life’ from the Tree of Life surround you and help you with your spiritual cleansing.
