 textרבי שלמה הירשל ברלינר י"ט בשבט ה'תקכ"ב, 12 בפברואר 1762 - כ"ז בחשוון ה'תר"ג, 31 באוקטובר 1842) היה הרב הראשי הראשון של בריטניה הגדולה. <h3 style="text-align: right;">ביוגרפיה</h3> נולד לרב צבי הירש לוין שכיהן כרבה של לונדון וערים אחרות. בצעירותו כיהן כרבה של פרנצלאו ובשנת ה'תקס"ב (1802) התמנה כרבה של בריטניה הגדולה, משרה בה כיהן במשך ארבעים שנה עד פטירתו בכ"ז בחשוון ה'תר"ג, 31 באוקטובר 1842. הוא כיהן גם כרבה של הקהילה האשכנזית בלונדון והיה מראשי הלוחמים ברפורמים בבריטניה; חרם שהטיל בקיץ 1841, שנה לפני פטירתו, על ראשי ההנהגה הרפורמית במטרה לבלום את התנועה, נכשל, לאחר שיורשו הרב נתן מרקוס אדלר לא הצליח לאכוף אותו בשנים שלאחר פטירתו. ספרייתו שהייתה עשירה בכתבי יד, נקנתה לאחר פטירתו מיורשיו בידי הקהילה בלונדון. <h3 style="text-align: right;">משפחתו</h3> הוא הוריש לשני בניו סכום כסף גדול, אך ציווה עליהם בצוואתו שלא ישתקעו בלונדון אלא בפולין. שניהם גרו תקופה בקרקוב ובהמשך עלו לארץ ישראל: בנו ר' דוד טעבלי עלה לארץ ישראל בשנת ה'תקצ"ח, 1838, והיה ממנהיגי קהילת ה"פרושים" בירושלים וגזבר חורבת רבי יהודה חסיד. הוא נפטר בט"ז בחשוון ה'תרי"ב. בנו ר' צבי הירש עלה אף הוא לארץ ישראל בשנת ה'תרי"ג לאחר פטירת אחיו. הוא היה מבוני ירושלים, ואחד ממקימי בתי מחסה. נפטר ביפו בד' באב ה'תרל"ב ונקבר בבית הקברות היהודי בהר הזיתים זכותו תגן עלינו ועל כל ישראל, אמן <gdiv></gdiv>
