    • short_info<p><strong>Yisrael Alter</strong>, (Polish: <em>Izrael Alter</em>, Hebrew: <strong>ישראל אלתר</strong>‎; October 1895 – 20 February 1977), also known as the <em><strong>Beis Yisroel</strong></em> after the works he authored, was the fifth Rebbe of the Hasidic dynasty of Ger, a position he held from 1948 until 1977.</p>
    • info<p>The Beis Yisrael of Ger , The third son of the Imrei Emes, he celebrated a double simcha on his Bar Mitzvah, as he became engaged to his cousin, Chaya Sara. They married two years later. In 1940, the Imrei Emes escaped the Nazis and reached Eretz Yisrael, along with his sons, Rav Yisrael, Rav Simcha Bunim, and Rav Pinchas Menachem. Tragically, Rav Yisrael’s wife, daughter, and son perished, a fact he didn’t learn until 1945. He remarried in 1948, but had no children from his second wife. After his father’s petira, Rav Yisrael assumed the mantle of leadership as the 4th Rebbe of Ger. For the next 29 years, he rebuilt Ger and was a major force in the Moetzes Gedolei HaTorah of Agudas Yisrael. After his passing, Ger was led by his brother, Rav Simcha Bunim, until his petira in 1992. After that, his other brother, Rav Pinchas Menachem led Ger for four years. Since then, Ger has been led by Rav<br /> Yaakov Aryeh, the son of Rav Simcha Bunim.</p> <p>Rabbi Yisrael also known as the "Sharfer (sharp) Rebbe", left a great impression on people from all walks of life who came in contact with him, and was highly respected by all Hasidic circles. His idea was to elevate every person to somehow become one level higher than his present state. There are countless stories from individuals (Hasidim and non-Hasidim) who met the Rebbe, relating how he had a tremendous spiritual impact on them and how this strong impression will never leave them. What makes this even more impressive is that many of these encounters with the Rebbe were for a very short period of time.</p> <p>Rabbi Yisrael actively encouraged a strong competitive rivalry between the young man in his Yeshivos. In particular, early morning learning, prayers and Tischen (meals led by the Rebbe on Sabbath and Holidays).</p> <p>He was a charismatic leader with a dynamic personality, quick wit and an unpredictable nature.</p> <p>Rabbi Yisrael became a powerful force within the Agudat Israel of Israel party and guided its work in the Israeli Knesset, concluding alliances with various other political parties to further the causes of Haredi Judaism in the Jewish state.</p> <p>He died of bowel obstruction in 1977, leaving no heir. He was succeeded by his brother, Rabbi Simcha Bunim Alter.       • text<p>קורות חייו</p> <p>נולד בפולין באסרו חג הסוכות (בחו"ל), כ"ד בתשרי תרנ"ה (1894), כבנו השלישי של רבי אברהם מרדכיאלתר. עד גיל עשר למד אצל סבו יהודה אריה ליב אלתר ונודע כעילוי. היה ידוע בייחוד בהקפדתו על זמנים. התארס בגיל שלוש עשרה עם מרת חיה שרה, בת דודו רבי יעקב מאיר בידרמן ונישא לה בשנת תר"ע.</p> <p>בהוראת אביו, שבקשו לסייעו, הנהיג כבר בחיי אביו קבוצות אברכים "בני עלייה" מחסידי גור, ומסר להם הנהגות והוראות, כך העיד גם אחיו רבי פינחס מנחם בשיחה לציבור שבועיים קודם פטירתו.</p> <p>בזמן השואה ברח יחד עם אביו מפולין לארץ ישראל, אך כל בני משפחתו הקרובה נרצחו בידי הנאצים כמו גם רוב החסידים שהתגוררו בפולין. לאחר פטירת אביו בשנתתש"ח מונה לממלא מקומו באדמו"רות. הוא נישא בשנית לפערל, בתו של הרב דוד וינפלד, אך לא נולדו להם ילדים.</p> <h3>בארץ ישראל</h3> <p>כאדמו"ר, שיקם את החסידות, הגדיל את כוחה ועיצב את דרכה. רבי ישראל אסף סביבו את חסידי גור שהתגוררו בישראל מלפני מלחמת העולם ואת ניצולי השואה, וכן פעל לקרב את אלו שהם או הוריהם עזבו את החסידות.</p> <p>מקובל בציבור החרדי לראות בו את אחד ממשקמי הציבור החרדי לאחר השואה במיוחד בכל הקשור לקביעת נורמות ציבוריות בנושאי צניעות, הפרדה בין המינים והתבדלות מהתרבות הכללית. השפעתו הייתה רבה מאוד וחרגה בהרבה מתחומי ההשפעה של חסידות גור. אישיותו הכריזמטית והכובשת זכתה להערצה של רבים, וצעירים רבים ממגזרים שונים נסחפו אחריו והפכו לחסידיו ומעריציו הנלהבים.</p> <h3>פעילותו הציבורית</h3> <p>פעילותו הציבורית התמקדה בעיקר במסגרת תנועת אגודת ישראל. הוא יחס חשיבות רבה לתחום החינוך ופעל רבות תוך שיתוף פעולה עם מנהיגים אחרים מהמגזר החרדי להקמת החינוך העצמא<a href="https://he.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D7%94%D7%97%D7%99%D7%A0%D7%95%D7%9A_%D7%94%D7%A2%D7%A6%D7%9E%D7%90%D7%99">י</a> - מסגרת חינוך חרדית אוטונומית - וביסוסו. כמו כן הקים את היומון החרדי המודיע והשקיע מאמצים רבים לבסס את העיתון כלכלית.</p> <p>על החשיבות הרבה שהרבי ייחס לחינוך ולעיתונות עם השקפה תורנית, ניתן ללמוד מהעובדה שבמשך כל שנות הנהגתו הוא נמנע מלערוך מגביות לכל נושא שהוא אפילו עבור מוסדות החסידות. להוציא מגבית אחת עבור עיתון המודיע ונוספת עבור החינוך העצמאי.</p> <p>בנוסף לתפקידו כאדמו"ר ומנהיג של חסידות גור שימש גם בתפקיד של יושב ראש מועצת גדולי התורה. מתוקף תפקידו זה השפיע רבות על התנהלותה ודרכה של תנועתאגודת ישראל שנוסדה על ידי אביו, האדמו"ר רבי אברהם מרדכי אלתר, שנודע בכינויו ה"אמרי אמת". הוא גם יזם, סייע ועודד את הקמתן מחדש של חצרות אדמו"רים מכל הקהילות החסידיות, שנכחדו בשנות המלחמה.</p> <h3>הנהגותיו</h3> <p>ה'נסיעה' לאדמו"ר</p> <p>כחלק מתהליך השיקום של החסידות לאחר השואה, הוא חידש את המושג 'נסיעות' לאדמו"ר לשבתות וחגים, כפי שהיה נהוג בפולין לפני המלחמה. עניין זה של 'נסיעה' ו'עליה לרגל' לרבי, נחשב לאבן יסוד במושגי החסידות וככלי מרכזי להשגת הארה והתעלות רוחנית.</p> <h3>עריכת השולחן (טיש)</h3> <p>עניין רב עוררו ה"שולחנות" ("<a href="https://he.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D7%98%D7%99%D7%A9">טיש</a>" בלשון החסידים) שערך בשבתות וחגים. רבי ישראל ייחס לכך חשיבות רבה, ובמשך 29 שנות הנהגתו כמעט ולא נקטע רצף עריכת הטישים להוציא פעמים ספורות בעת שחלה ואושפז בבית החולים.</p> <p>רבי ישראל אלתר ערך את הטיש בדרך כלל פעמיים בכל שבת וחג; בלילות שבת וכן בשבתות אחרי הצהריים בזמן ה"סעודה השלישית", שנחשב לזמן מיוחד להתעלות רוחנית לפי משנת החסידות ("רעוא דרעוין"). בשנותיו האחרונות [החל מאב תשל"א], עקב חולשתו, הוא ערך את הטיש רק פעם אחת בשבת בעת ה"סעודה השלישית".</p> <p>סדר עריכת הטיש התנהל על פי רוב לפי הסדר הזה: הגבאי היה מחלק יין או בירה לחסידים והם ניגשו לאדמו"ר לאחל "לחיים". לאחר מכן המקהלה פצחה בניגונים חסידיים לשבת. בהמשך הושלך הס בקהל והרבי השמיע מדברי תורתו כשהחסידים נדחקים בניסיון לשמוע ולקלוט משהו מדבריו.</p> <p>רבים מאלו שאינם מחסידי גור שהתקרבו אליו, כולל בחורי ישיבות מהמגזר הליטאי והמגזר הדתי לאומי, הגיעו לצפות מתוך סקרנות בעת שערך את הטיש והפכו לחסידים נלהבים.</p> <h3>דאגה ל'יהדות' ('אידשקייט')</h3> <p>הרב אלתר נודע בדאגתו הרבה לעתיד ה'יהדות' או כפי שמקובל להגדיר בשפת היידיש - "אידישקייט". מדובר במכלול נושאים בתחומי הפילוסופיה היהודית, החסידות והקבלה, אבל הוא התמקד בעיקר סביב הדאגה לנושאי הצניעות, החינוך ל"שמירת הברית" מקטנות וההתבדלות מהחברה והתרבות המתירנית, כמו הימנעות מקריאת עיתונות חילונית וכדומה. הוא ראה בהם אבן יסוד להבטחת המשך הקיום של עם ישראל במתכונתו ההיסטורית ומניעת התבוללותו. הוא גם סבר שנושאים אלה הם אבן היסוד של היהדות והקפדה על שמירה עליהם ממתיקה דיני שמים ומונעת גזירות קשות מעם ישראל.</p> <h3>הגותו</h3> <p>קדושה והתעלות רוחנית</p> <p>בספר הביוגרפי "פאר ישראל" שליקט וערך הרב ברוך ווידסלבסקי, וכתב הרב אהרן סורסקי, הוא מסביר בין היתר כך את דרכו של הרבי והנהגתו: "הרבי דרש מחסידיו ומעריציו להתעלות מבחינה רוחנית ולקדש את עצמם. הוא סבר שלא ניתן להינצל מהחטא ללא הרחקות מהנאות גשמיות גם בדברים שאינם אסורים לפי התורה". מחסידיו הצעירים אף דרש שלא לטייל ברחוב עם האשה ולהקפיד להימנע, במידת האפשר, מלטייל בכלל ברחוב שלא לצורך וכן לשמור על "קדושת העיניים" שלא יראו מראות לא צנועים.</p> <h3>החמרות ופרישות</h3> <p>הרב אלתר תיקן לחסידיו תקנון מחמיר המיועד להרחיקם מחטא ולקדשם, בין השאר אסר על חסידיו מגע ובילוי עם נשותיהם, כמו קיום של יחסי אישות מעבר למינימום הכרחי, איסור על קיום יחסים במשך תקופה ארוכה לאחר לידה וכדומה. תקנות אלו עוררו עליו מתנגדים רבים גם מקרב רבנים, כמו הרב יעקב ישראל קנייבסקי שאף כתב  קונטרס המביע הסתייגות מגישתו המחמירה, אם כי נמנע מלצאת למאבק גלוי על כך.</p> <p>הימנעות מ"חילול השם"</p> <p>למרות שנחשב למחמיר מאוד בנושאי דת, הייתה זו החמרה כלפי פנים ולא כלפי חוץ; דרישותיו מחסידיו ומעצמו היו גדולות אבל הוא נזהר מאוד שלא לגרום למתיחות בין דתיים לחילונים ודאג לשמור, במידת האפשר, על תדמית חיובית של שומרי המצוות אצל אלו שאינם כאלה. הוא סבר שהתגרות בחילונים היא מעשה שיש בו "חילול השם" ולכן דרש מחסידיו להשתדל מאוד להימנע מכל פעולה שפוגעת בתדמית של ציבור שומרי המצוות בקרב הציבור הכללי. בין היתר הוא אסר על חסידיו להשתתף בהפגנות של החרדים בירושלים נגד תנועה בכבישים בשבת וכן אסר על חסידיו ללכת עם 'גרטל' ברחוב (אבנט עשוי מחוטי טרלין ובצדדיו מעין ציציות. החסידים נוהגים לקשור אותו על מותניהם מעל החליפה בעת התפילה וחלקם אף בשעת לימוד תורה).</p> <h3>משנתו התורנית</h3> <p>בשנותיו הראשונות בארץ הרבה ללמוד קבלה עם רבה של שכונת שערי חסד וישיבת מרכז הרב, הרב יעקב משה חרל"פ, עד שזה נפטר. מלקט דברי תורה וחסידות שהשאיר בכתב ידו שהיה מעין מה שהשמיע לחסידיו לאחר התפילות בשבתות ובחגים ובמהלך טישים חובר הספר "בית ישראל" על התורה.</p> <h3>פטירתו</h3> <p>כחמש שנים לפני מותו עבר בהצלחה ניתוח להסרת גידול ממעיו. נפטר בבית החולים הדסה עין-כרם ביום ראשון, ב' אדר התשל"ז (1977) כתוצאה מנמק במעיים בעקבות חסימה עורקית, לאחר שסירב להתפנות לבית החולים יום קודם בשל קדושת השבת. הוא נקבר ב"מערת גור" בהר הזיתים. בהלווייתו נכחו כ-90,0000 בני אדם  .</p> <p>עם פטירתו מונה לאדמו"ר אחיו, רבי שמחה בונים אלתר, בעל ה"לב שמחה".</p>

      • text<p>Бейс Исраэль из Гер, третий сын Имрей Эмеса, праздновал двойную Симху на бар мицву. Он также был помолвлен со своей кузиной Хайей Сарой. Они поженились через два года после этого. В 1940 году Имрей Эмес сбежал от нацистов и приехал в Эрец Исраэль вместе со своими сыновьями Равом Исраэлем, Равом Симхой Бунимом, и Равом Пинхасом Менахемом. В особенности очень ранние уроки, молитвы и Тишен (трапезы у Реббе на шаббаты и праздники).</p> <p>Он был харизматический лидером с динамичной личностью, быстрым умаом и непредсказуемым от природы.</p> <p>Рабби Исраэль стал мощной силой в партии Агудат Исраэль и вёл её работу в Израильском Кнессете, создавал альянсы с различными политическими партиями, чтобы продвигать дела Хареди иудаизма в еврейском государстве.</p> <p>Он умер от кишечной непроходимости в 1977 году, не оставив наследника. Его дело продолжил его брат рабби Симха Буним Альтер.
