Rabbi Zev Wolf of Zhitomir (bef. 1772–1800 or 1822), was a Hassidic Rabbi.
Rasbbi Zev Wolf of Zhitomir (bef. 1772–1800 or 1822), was a Hassidic Rabbi. He was the third son of Rabbi Yechiel Michel of Zlotshov, known as "The Maggid of Zlotshov". Wolf studied under, and has been styled as a disciple of, Dov Ber of Mezeritch, also known as the "Maggid of Mesritch".
Traveled to a contract from Lublin and to Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Rymanov. He was famous for his innocence and the love of Israel, even for complete wickedness (according to his father's hint he was directed against the Pentateuch and Leviticus which deals with the sacred and sacrificial victims). He has authored books called "Razin Dauritha" and "The glory of Zvi Zeev."
Among his students were Rabbi Zvi Hirsch of Zidichov and Rabbi Sander of Komarna. In addition, many tzaddikim, including Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Kosov (with his son Rabbi Chaim Makosov), Rabbi Zvi Elimelech Shapira of Dinov, Rabbi David Shlomo Ivshitz and Rabbi Naftali of Ropshitz (with his son Rabbi Eliezer Medzikov) traveled to it.
Rabbi Yechiel Michal died in his youth.
