Cuando este estaba a punto de morir, le confió estas vestimentas a Seth, quien se las dejó a Metushelach, quien a su vez, se las dejó a Noé (Bamidbar Rabbah 4:8). </p> <p>Metushelach fue un gran estudioso, le advirtió al padre de Noé, Lemech, no llamarlo por su nombre correcto, para que la generación del Diluvio no lo matara con brujería, que solo sería efectiva si se usaba el nombre correcto. Cuando nació, Metushelach lo llamó Noé, pero le dijo al padre del niño: “Llámalo Menachen delante de todos” (Yalkut Shimoni, Berheshit 42).</p> <p>Mientras Matushelach vivió, el diluvio no cayó sobre el mundo, en honor a este.       • text<p style="text-align: right;"><strong>גד</strong> או <strong>גד בן יעקב</strong> הוא אחד משבטי ישראל, בנה הראשון של זלפה שפחת רחל, ובנו התשיעי של יעקב אבינו.</p> <p style="text-align: right;">לפי המסורת גד נולד בי' חשון, בשנת ב' קצ"ו (2,196) לבריאת העולם  , בשנה האחת-עשרה לשהות יעקב אבינו בחרן. הוא חי מאה עשרים וחמש שנה </p> <p style="text-align: right;">יעקב אבינו מברך את, בנו, גד: "גָּד גְּדוּד יְגוּדֶנּוּ וְהוּא יָגֻד עָקֵב" ([[ספר בראשית]],מ"ט,י"ט). לפי הרמב"ן הוא רומז בכך ליציאתם של בני השבט, יחד עם בני שבט ראובן וחצי שבט המנשה - חלוצים לפני מחנה בני ישראל בעת כיבוש ארץ כנען. וכך הוא מפרש את ד"ה <strong>והוא יגוד עקב</strong> - "כל גדודיו ישובו על עקבם לנחלתם שלקחו בעבר הירדן, ולא יפקד מהם איש". יעקב אבינו רואה בנבואתו כי בני השבט ישובו בשלום לביתם, לאחר כיבוש הארץ. גם ה<a href="https://www.yeshiva.org.il/wiki/index.php?title=%D7%A8%D7%A9%D7%91%22%D7%9D">רשב"ם</a> מרחיב באותו עניין:"גדוד ישראל יגודו אחריו, כשיהיו הולכים למלחמת יהושע, וכדכתיב: <strong>חלוצים תעברו לפני אחיכם</strong> ובשוב גד מן המלחמה ישובו של גד אחר עקיבן של ישראל, שכן דרך כשיוצאין למלחמה יוצאין תחלה ובחזרתן הם אחרונים לשמור את השבטים מן המלחמה, פן ירדפו האויבים אחריהם."</p> <h3 style="text-align: right;">מקורו של השם</h3> <p style="text-align: right;">לאה אימנו, אשר שפחתה ילדה את גד, בחרה את שמו, וכך מובא במקרא:"וַתֹּאמֶר לֵאָה (בָּגָד) [בָּא גָד] וַתִּקְרָא אֶת-שְׁמוֹ גָּד"תבנית:מקרא</p> <p style="text-align: right;">רבי דוד צבי הופמן מוצא דמיון בין האמור לגבי הולדת גד לבין האמור על הולדת נפתלי. הוא מבחין בינם לבין הבנים שנולדו קודם: ארבעת הבנים הראשונים הם מתנת חסד ועל שלושה היא קוראת בשם ה'. שני האחרונים באים כשכר צודק על מעשה טוב ועל תפילת אם האומה ועל כן היא קוראת בשם אלוקים. הולדת בני זלפה לא באה עקב תפילה ולא כמעשה חסד מיוחד.</p> <p style="text-align: right;">אין לאה רואה בשתי לידות אלה משום מעשה ההשגחה האלהית, כפי שראתה בהולדת בניה שלה. ועך כן, היא מיחסת לידות אלה - למזל. חז"ל אמרו:"חיי, בני ומזוני לא בזכותא תליא אלא במזלא תליא מילתא" <a href="https://www.yeshiva.org.il/wiki/index.php?title=%D7%92%D7%93#cite_note-3">[3]</a></p> <h2 style="text-align: right;">סמלו של השבט</h2> <p style="text-align: right;"><a href="https://www.yeshiva.org.il/wiki/index.php?title=%D7%A7%D7%95%D7%91%D7%A5:800px-Agate7_hg.jpg"><img alt="" src="https://www.yeshiva.org.il/wiki/images/thumb/b/b6/800px-Agate7_hg.jpg/250px-800px-Agate7_hg.jpg" style="height:174px; width:250px" /></a></p> <p style="text-align: right;">"אַחְלָמָה" -המקור:ויקישיתוף,Hannes Grobe</p> <p style="text-align: right;">גד היה מְפֻתָּ‏‏‏ח על <strong>אַחְלָמָה</strong>  בחשן משפט. רבינו בחיי קורא אותה קרישטא"ל. תרגומו: עין עיגלא. האבן ליאמ"ן דומה לה אלא שיש לה אדמימות.</p> <p style="text-align: right;">האבן ניתנה לגד היות והיא מוכרת לבני אדם. שבטו של גד היה ידוע וכן מספר הרוגיו. אחלמה מלשון חזק.</p> <h3 style="text-align: right;"><br /> ברכת משה</h3> <p style="text-align: right;">משה רבינו מברך את שבט גד בברכה מיוחדת:"וּלְגָד אָמַר בָּרוּךְ מַרְחִיב גָּד כְּלָבִיא שָׁכֵן וְטָרַף זְרוֹעַ אַף-קָדְקֹד: וַיַּרְא רֵאשִׁית לוֹ כִּי-שָׁם חֶלְקַת מְחֹקֵק סָפוּן וַיֵּתֶא רָאשֵׁי עָם צִדְקַת יְהוָֹה עָשָׂה וּמִשְׁפָּטָיו עִם-יִשְׂרָאֵל" .</p> <p style="text-align: right;">חלקה הראשון מצביע על עצמתו של השבט. רש"י מבאר על ד"ב <strong>ברוך מרחיב גד</strong> - מלמד שהיה תחומו של גד מרחיב ועולה כלפי מזרח (המדבר - אזור בה לא קיימים סדרי שלטון) . <strong>כלביא שכן</strong> - לפי שהיה <strong>סמוך לספר</strong> "לפיכך נמשל כאריות שכל הסמוכים לספר צריכים להיות גיבורים." והתוצאה <strong>וטרף זרוע אף קדקד</strong> - "הרוגיהן היו נכרין, חותכים הראש עם הזרוע במכה אחת".</p> <p style="text-align: right;">חלקה השני עוסק בדבר שונה לחלוטין:"וַיַּרְא רֵאשִׁית לוֹ כִּי-שָׁם חֶלְקַת מְחֹקֵק סָפוּן וַיֵּתֶא רָאשֵׁי עָם צִדְקַת ה' עָשָׂה וּמִשְׁפָּטָיו עִם-יִשְׂרָאֵל". הרמז ברור למדי, הכתוב מדבר על מקום קבורתו הצפוי של משה רבינו. וכך מפרש רש"י: <strong>וירא ראשית לו</strong> - "ראה ליטול לו חלק בארץ סיחון ועוג, שהיא ראשית כבוש הארץ" - דהיינו בחר את חלקת הקבורה באזור הראשון שנכבש והוא ממשיך <strong>כי שם חלקת מחקק</strong> -"כי ידע אשר שם בנחלתו חלקת שדה קבורת מחוקק והוא משה" - כאן יהיה מקום קבורתו. ותהיה סודית שנאמר <em>ספון</em> - "אותה חלקה ספונה וטמונה מכל בריה, שנאמר  <strong>ולא ידע איש את קבורתו</strong>.</p> <p style="text-align: right;">משה רבינו חולק להם כבוד על היותם חלוצים לפני המחנה בכיבוש הארץ:<strong>ויתא</strong> - גד:<strong>ראשי עם</strong> - הם היו הולכים לפני החלוץ בכבוש הארץ לפי שהיו גיבורים, וכן הוא אומר ואתם תעברו חלוצים לפני אחיכם וגו': <strong>צדקת ה' עשה</strong> - שהאמינו דבריהם ושמרו הבטחתם לעבור את הירדן עד שכבשו וחלקו.</p> <p style="text-align: right;">דבר אחר:ויתא - משה ראשי עם. צדקת ה' עשה -על משה אמור:</p> <h2 style="text-align: right;">אליהו הנביא</h2> <p style="text-align: right;">אליהו הנביא בא משבט גד. חז"ל מוצאים על כך רמז מי מדברי לאה אימנו, כאשר נתנה לו את שמו:</p> <p style="text-align: right;"><strong>ותאמר לאה בא גד</strong> - אתיא גדא דביתא אתא גדא דעלמא, בא מי שעתיד לגדד משתיתן של עובדי כוכבים. ומנו? אליהו.</p> <p style="text-align: right;">אליהו משל מי? - מאיזה שבט היה, דנים חז"ל</p> <ul> <li style="text-align: right;">ר' אליעזר אמר: משל בנימין, דכתיב: (ד"ה א ח) ויערשיה ואליה, וזכרי, בני ירוחם, כל אלה בני בנימין.</li> <li style="text-align: right;">ר' נהוראי אמר: משל גד היה, הה"ד: (מלכים א טז)ויאמר אליהו התשבי,מתושבי גלעד.</li> <li style="text-align: right;">אמר רבי פליפי בר נהוראי: מאן חזית למימר כן? אמר לו: דכתיב: (יהושע יג) ויהי להם הגבול יעזר וכל ערי הגלעד.</li> <li style="text-align: right;">מה מקיים ר' אלעזר קרא דר' נהוראי מתושבי גלעד? מיושבי לשכת הגזית הוה.</li> </ul> <p style="text-align: right;">ומה מקיים ר' נהוראי קרא דר' אלעזר ויערשיה ואליהו? אלא מדרשות הן, בשעה שהיה הקדוש ברוך הוא מרעיש עולמו, היה מזכיר זכות אבות, בני ירוחם, והקב"ה מתמלא רחמים על עולמו. פעם אחת נחלקו רבותינו בדבר אלו אומרים משל גד, ואלו אומרים משל בנימין, בא ועמד לפניהם. אמר לו: רבותינו מה אתם נחלקים עלי?
