His father was head of yeshiva in Mance. Learn Torah from his father. At the age of 10 he finish the Shas. At the age of 15, he began to study Kabbalah by Rabbi Ya'akov Alkobi. After the death of his father, he was appointed as head of the yeshiva under him, alongside to his brother Rabbi Rafael. The Yeshiva received everyone who wanted to study Torah. Known as Eliyahu Hanavie ("Elijah the Prophet" ) for his acts of kindness, especially hospitality. He passed away on November 12, 1940 (the 13th of Heshvan), he was aged 103, when he passed away. Buried in the Jewish cemetery at Meknes. May the merit of the tzadik Rabbi Yosef Alcobi protect us all. Amen

 textרבי יוסף אלקובי (תקצ"ח, 1838 - י"א בחשוון תש"א, 1940) היה מקובל, פוסק וראש ישיבה במרוקו. <h3 style="text-align:right">ביוגרפיה</h3> נולד במקנס שבמרוקו לרב דוד אלקובי, נצר לשושלת רבנים. אביו עמד בראשות ישיבה במקנס. למד תורה מפיו אביו. בגיל 10 סיים את הש"ס. בגיל 15 החל ללמוד את תורת הקבלה מפי הרב יעקב אלקובי. בהגיעו לפרקו נישא, ונולדו לו שמונה ילדים. לאחר מות אביו התמנה לראש הישיבה תחתיו, לצד אחיו הרב רפאל. לישיבה התקבל כל מי שחפץ ללמוד תורה. כונה "אליהו הנביא" בשל מעשי חסד, בפרט הכנסת אורחים הלך לעולמו ב-12 בנובמבר 1940 (י״א חשוון ה'תש״א), כבן 103 בפטירתו. נקבר בבית הקברות היהודי במקנס. זכותו תגן עלינו ועל כל ישראל, אמן .
