 text<h2 style="text-align:right">תולדות חייו</h2> נולד בעיר זליתן שבלוב בשנת 1864, נצר למשפחת רבנים ידועי שם מהעיר טריפולי. אביו היה הרב המקובל פרג'אללה דאבוש ששימש אב בית הדין בעיר טריפולי, אחיו הרב חיים דאבוש היה מפקח על הישיבות בלוב. לאחר מספר שנים בהן שימש כדיין, מונה בשנת 1902 הרב דאבוש לתפקיד אב בית הדין היהודי בטריפולי (תפקיד בו החזיק בעבר גם אביו) ושימש בו עד ליום פטירתו. נחשב לאחד ממנהיגיה הרוחניים של הקהילה בעת הכיבוש האיטלקי. לרב דאבוש היו שמונה ילדים; חמשה בנים ושלוש בנות. בנו הרב כלאפו דאבוש כיהן כדיין בבית הדין הרבני בעיר בנגזי, בן נוסף הרב שאול דאבוש נרצח במאורעות הדמים בטריפולי בשנת 1945 , בתו, מרים (רמו) נחאיסי, נישאה לרב כמוס נחאיסי, דיין בבית הדין הרבני בטריפולי, ששימש לאחר עלייתו לישראל במועצה הדתית בתל אביב וכיהן כרב שכונת שיכון דן בעיר. <img alt="Rabbi Refael Dabush.jpg" src="https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/1/1b/Rabbi_Refael_Dabush.jpg/250px-Rabbi_Refael_Dabush.jpg" /> בשנת 1926 נפצע הרב דאבוש קשה בעת שחיתן זוג בטריפולי, כאשר הבמה שעליה הוקמה החופה התמוטטה. לאחר כשבועיים נפטר מפצעיו בבית החולים. זכותו תגן עלינו ועל כל ישראל, אמן
