    • info<p> </p> <p>Rabbi Yosef ben Emanuel Irgas  (1855 -3 Sivan 1730), was Italian rabbi and Kabbalist, one of the greatest warriors in Nehemiah Hayun and on Shabbat in general</p> <h3>His Life</h3> <p>Born in Livorno in 1685, to Rabbi Emanuel the rabbi of the community. He studied Torah in the city at the yeshiva of Rabbi Shmuel di Fass and became famous for his genius at a young age. Afterwards, he settled in the city of Pisa and established a yeshiva there, called Neve Shalom.</p> <p>He became famous for his important Kabbalistic book, Shomer Emunim, in which he argues with Rabbi Emanuel Chai Riki, who was one of the proponents of "Hatzimzum Trati Mashma." Irgas' book is considered a basic book in Kabbalah and the most prominent representative of the proponents of "Hatzimzum Hablti Zafui."  In order to differentiate between this book and the book "Shomer Emunim" written by Rabbi Aharon Rata, it is customary to call the first "the ancient (Hakadum) Shomer Emunim".</p> <p>He also wrote a halakhic responsa in the name of Divrei Yosef.</p> <p>He died in Livorno on the 3rd of Sivan in 1730 at the age of forty-five.</p> <h3>His Works</h3> <p>Divrei Yosef (Livorno 1902) - questions and answers.<br /> Shomer Emunim (Amsterdam 1906) - Introduction to Kabbalah.<br /> Minchat Yosef (Livorno 1902) - Kabbalah.<br /> Introduction openings (Berlin Trf"z) - Introduction and Rules Ari's writings<br /> Tochachat Megola (London IAI) - against Nehemiah Hayun and the Sabbaths<br /> The Hatzad Hanachash (Snake Side) (London IAI) - against Nehemiah Hayun and the Sabbaths</p> <p>May the merit of the tzadik Rabbi Yosef ben Emanuel Irgas protect us all.       • text<p style="text-align:right"> </p> <p style="text-align:right">רבי יוסף בן עמנואל אירגאס (אירגאז) (ה'תמ"ה 1685 – ג' בסיוון ה'ת"ץ 1730), רב ומקובל איטלקי, מגדולי הלוחמים בנחמיה חיון ובשבתאות בכלל.</p> <h3 style="text-align:right"><br /> קורות חייו</h3> <p style="text-align:right">נולד בליוורנו בשנת תמ"ה (1685), לרבי עמנואל רב הקהילה. למד תורה בעיר בישיבתו של רבי שמואל די פאס והתפרסם בגאונותו בגיל צעיר. את חכמת הקבלה למד אצל רבי בנימין הכהן ויטאלי, תלמיד רבי משה זכות, במשך שבעה שבועות. לאחר מכן התיישב בעיר פיזה והקים בה ישיבה בשם "נוה שלום". כן יסד בעיר זו שתי קרנות צדקה: "מוהר הבתולות" ו"מלביש ערומים". בשובו לליוורנו מונה לרב הקהילה.</p> <p style="text-align:right">התפרסם בגדלותו בתורה ורבנים רבים מאיטליה וצרפת היו מריצים אליו שאלותיהם והוא היה משיב להם בלשון ברורה ובקיצור נמרץ. החשוב שבתלמידיו היה רבי מלאכי הכהן, מחבר הספר האנציקלופדי יד מלאכי.</p> <p style="text-align:right">התפרסם בשל ספרו הקבלי החשוב שומר אמונים, בו הוא מתווכח עם רבי עמנואל חי ריקי שהיה ממצדדי ה"צמצום כפשוטו". ספרו של אירגאס נחשב ספר יסוד בקבלה ולמייצג הבולט ביותר של מצדדי ה"צמצום שלא כפשוטו". כדי להבדיל בין ספר זה לבין ספר "שומר אמונים" שחיבר הרב אהרן ראטה, נהוג לכנות את הראשון בשם "שומר אמונים הקדמון".</p> <p style="text-align:right">כמו כן חיבר שו״ת בהלכה בשם דברי יוסף.</p> <p style="text-align:right">הלך לעולמו בליוורנו בג' בסיוון ה'ת"ץ (1730) בגיל ארבעים וחמש.</p> <h3 style="text-align:right">משפחתו</h3> <p style="text-align:right">בהיותו בגיל שמונה עשרה נשא לאישה את בת אחות אמו, ממנה נולדו לו שלשה בנים ושלש בנות, ביניהם בניו רבי אברהם ורבי עמנואל.</p> <p style="text-align:right">מלחמתו בשבתאות</p> <p style="text-align:right">בשנת 1710 הגיע לליוורנו השבתאי המפורסם נחמיה חייא חיון וניסה לקבל ממנו הסכמה על ספרו, אך אירגאס עמד על טיבו וגרשו מהעיר. חיון הגיע לאמסטרדם והדפיס שם ספרי התקפה חריפה נגדו. אירגס השיב לו בשני ספרי פולמוס בשם תוכחת מגולה והצד נחש שהדפיס בלונדון בשנת 1715.</p> <p style="text-align:right">בשנת 1730, בעת הפולמוס נגד רבי משה חיים לוצאטו שלח אירגאס מכתבים לרבי ישעיה בסאן, רבו של רמח"ל, על מנת לתהות על קנקנו, אך לא הספיק להכריע בעניין לפני מותו.</p> <h3 style="text-align:right">חיבוריו</h3> <p style="text-align:right">דברי יוסף (ליוורנו תק"ב) - שאלות ותשובות.<br /> שומר אמונים (אמסטרדם תצ"ו) - מבוא לתורת הקבלה.<br /> מנחת יוסף (ליוורנו תקצ"ב) - קבלה.<br /> מבוא פתחים (ברלין תרפ"ז) - מבוא וכללים לכתבי האר"י<br /> תוכחת מגולה (לונדון תע"ה) - נגד נחמיה חיון והשבתאות<br /> הצד נחש (לונדון תע"ה) - נגד נחמיה חיון והשבתאות</p> <p style="text-align:right">זכותו תגן עלינו ועל כל ישראל, אמן</p>
