His fame as a scholar soon reached Vilna, whither he was called, in 1650, to fill the office of chief rabbi. Lima was of a retiring and diffident disposition, which probably accounts for the paucity of his writings. He left a manuscript commentary on Shulchan Aruch, Eben Ha-Ezer, which his son Raphael published (1670) under the title of Ḥelḳat Meḥoḳeḳ, and which, while betraying profound erudition, was so condensed that the editor deemed it necessary to provide it with explanatory notes. Lima did not carry even this work to completion; it covers only the first 126 chapters of the Eben Ha-Ezer. Bibliography Goldworm, H. (1989).  text<h3 style="text-align: right;">ביוגרפיה</h3> נולד בפולין בשנת 1604 לרבי יצחק יהודה, למד בישיבת קראקא אצל רבי יהושע בן רבי יוסף מקראקא. שימש ברבנות של קהילת סלונים משנת 1631 עד שנת 1650 לערך, ולאחר מכן נתמנה לרב ברבנות קהילת ווילנא. ר' שבתי הכהן (הש"ך) היה אחד מן הרבנים בבית דינו ברבנות ווילנא. בסוף ימיו התמנה לרב בבריסק, ליטא, שם נפטר בשנת 1658 בגיל 53. הספר "חלקת מחוקק" הוא פירוש על שולחן ערוך אבן העזר, אולם ר' משה לימא לא הספיק לסיים את פירושו על כל אבן העזר והגיע רק עד סימן קכ"ט. הוא הוצא לאור לאחר פטירתו והוא מודפס ביחד עם פירושו של ר' שמואל פייבוש "בית שמואל" בשם המשותף "אפי רברבי". בין צאצאיו נמנה רבי רפאל מייזליש, מחבר הספר "תוספת שבת" על הלכות שבת ועירובין. זכותו תגן עלינו ועל כל ישראל, אמן
