Tikkun 21 – 128
Smoke, עשן, has numerical value of 420. It connects us to the Ana B’Koach, which is the force of Creation. The smoke takes the sparks of light from the Klipah and elevates it, leaving the Klipah lifeless.
“For the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of YHVH shall be as the fat of lambs–they shall pass away in smoke, they shall pass away”
The smoke that comes from the incense is called Ketoret and the meaning of the word is “knotting” קשר. The purpose of the Ketoret is to remove negativity and bind the right column with its energy of Chassadim to bring balance with the light.
In the Holy Temple the Ketoret was in front of the Temple to eliminate any negativity from coming closer. It was one of the visible miracles in the Holy Temple because the smoke from the Ketoret was rising in a straight line up to the sky like a pillar. No wind or weather condition could affect it.
The High priest used the Ketoret before entering the Holy of Holies on Yom Kippur in order to cleanse himself from any outside negativity and to be able to focus on channeling the light to the world.
The power of the Ketoret is revealed first in Numbers 17. Korach created negativity when he brought separation to the camp of Israel. That split of the right and the left caused a plague and thousands were dying. Moses told Aaron to get the Ketoret (Numbers 17:11) to remove the negativity from the camp.
Numbers 17:12
Aaron followed Moses’s instructions and ran with the Ketoret to the people. He stood between the dead and the living and the plague stopped immediately.
Moses asked Aaron to take the fire from the Altar to burn the Ketoret . This fire comes from above to burn the offerings.
When the time comes, our positive actions will awaken the light to bring the Final Redemption. He will use the Ketoret to remove the negativity of the left column and bring the right and the left as one. All plagues and death will then stop forever.
