“כן יתן לידידו שנה”—”So He gives His beloved sleep” (Psalms 127:2).
It asks, “What is meant by ‘gives to His beloved’?” The answer is: This refers to someone whose source is blessed, meaning one with children. The Holy One, Blessed be He, grants him restful sleep in this world, as it is written: ‘וְשָׁכַבְתָּ וְעָרְבָה שְׁנָתֶךָ’ —”When you lie down, your sleep will be sweet” (Proverbs 3:24). This is because he has a portion in the World to Come. Therefore, such a person lies in the grave and enjoys the World to Come as is fitting.
Notes:
The Zohar conveys that the “beloved” who receive “sleep” are those with children, signifying both divine blessing in this life and a secure place in the World to Come.

“יֵשׁ אֶחָד וְאֵין שֵׁנִי”—”There is one alone, without a second” (Ecclesiastes 4:8).
“יֵשׁ אֶחָד”—”There is one,”—this refers to a man who is alone in the world. However, it is not that he is “one” in the sense of completeness, meaning singular in wisdom, but rather because he is without a wife.
“וְאֵין שֵׁנִי”—”without a second,”—this means that he has no helper, namely a wife. Furthermore, he has not left behind a son to preserve his name in Israel. Nor does he have a brother who could bring him to rectification through the mitzvah of levirate marriage (yibbum).
