Zohar Chayei Sarah

#175
And she said to me: “גַּם אַתָּה שְׁתֵה”, “You too drink” (Genesis 24:44). The meaning is that she let him understand three knowledge: first: You too are a servant like me, that is, lacking the upper three sefirot (ג” ר), second: And my knowledge of you was not confused with the understanding of the Shechina, that she did not err that there is final perfection in his Mochin, which bestows to souls, like the perfection of the Holy One, blessed be He. Third: And you need to attain that you are created like me. Even though you are an angel, nevertheless you are like a created being, that is, in the aspect of lack, like me.
Notes:
The “maiden” (soul) reveals to Metatron (angel) three truths: his servitude and lack (katnut), no confusion with YHVH’s perfection, and his created nature with deficiency.

“וְגַם לִגְמַלֶּיךָ אֶשְׁאָב”, “And I will also draw for your camels” (Genesis 24:44). That is, she also gives his hosts to know from what she attained and drew, “for your camels” means your hosts, as mentioned above. That is, the knowledge of his attainment is: 1) That your faction did not attain it, for they lack attainment. 2) And I knew that I have a level above you, that is, the aspect of inclusion from the point of this world, which is lacking to the angels above. 3) And how you were created from the radiance given to you, that is, she also attained the secret of his creation. If he says, if the body says all the above attainments, this sign will be given in my hand for all these things. For this sign that you made for me will be given in my hand for all these things, that the body will say to him all the above things, not one of them will be missing. Then I will know that she is the woman, he is the body, from that soul, according to the oath that swore to me (by my master).
Notes:
The mission of Abraham’s servant to find a wife for Isaac, as recounted in Genesis 24, stands as one of the most spiritually charged narratives in the Torah. Abraham, sensing the divine purpose of his lineage, sends his trusted servant, identified as Eliezer, to his ancestral homeland to secure a bride from his own kin, not from the daughters of Canaan. The servant’s journey is guided by divine providence: he prays for a sign at the well, and Rebecca appears, drawing water not only for him but also for his camels, fulfilling the exact criterion. This act of kindness (chessed) reveals Rebecca as the worthy match for Isaac, ensuring the continuation of Abraham’s line of the covenant. The Zohar sees a profound allegory for the soul’s descent into the world and its ultimate reunion with its divine source.
In the Zohar’s interpretation, the servant represents the angel Metat-n, the intermediary angel, while the soul of the righteous descends into a physical body, symbolized by the “maiden” at the well. Just as the servant seeks a bride worthy of Isaac, Metat-n examines the body to confirm its match with the soul, testing its Torah knowledge and spiritual merit. Rebecca’s drawing of water mirrors the soul’s attainment of divine wisdom (Mochin), drawn from the well of Torah, to sustain the union with Zeir Anpin. The camels signify Metat-n’s hosts of angels, and the soul’s offer to water them reflects its ability to elevate even angels through its earthly deeds.
