Daily Zohar # 5043 – Vayechi – Until the day breathes and the shadows flee
Daily Zohar 5043

#199
And even though their body is impure both in their life and in their death, but in their life, when all these impurities are found in them, they have the power to impart impurity to others. In their death, when all these impurities have gone out from them, they cannot impart impurity. And the body of Israel after his death can impart impurity to others, because all the holinesses have gone out from him, and the other side rests upon him.
Notes:
Idol-worshippers transmit impurity in life but not death; Jewish bodies impart impurity after death due to holiness’ departure, and the other side’s rest upon their body to draw from the impression of holiness that still rests in the body.
#200
Come and see: This holy image (צֶּלֶם), when a person goes and grows and becomes complete, his form in this face, another image is made and connects with the first one, and this one receives that one. When a person has two images, he is guarded, his body exists, and his spirit (Ruach) rests within him.
#201
When the time draws near to die, the images are removed from the person, and one is removed from the other, for they are connected. And the person remains without protection. And this is: “עַד שֶׁיָּפוּחַ הַיּוֹם וְנָסוּ הַצְּלָלִים”, “Until the day breathes and the shadows flee” (Song of Songs 2:17). And it does not say “and the shadow fled,” but “וְנָסוּ הַצְּלָלִים”, “and the shadows fled,” that is, two. As we have said.
Notes:
Near death, the two protective images (הַצְּלָלִים, Hatzlalim, plural) — connected as one — are removed sequentially, leaving the person unguarded. This reflects the soul’s departure and loss of divine protection at life’s end.
Friday would be a good day to make a ** Donation, especially if you didn’t donate in the past week. Giving on Friday, which is an aspect of Yessod, expands the vessel for the Light and honor of Shabbat.
** Your donation doesn’t have to be given to the same place every week. You can alternate or split your donation among those who benefit you spiritually.
