Zohar Beshalach

#196
He said to him: “כִּי לְגוֹי גָּדוֹל אֲשִׂימְךָ שָׁם”— “For I will make you a great nation there” (Genesis 46:3). He said to Him: I am afraid that they will consume my children.
He said to him: “אָנֹכִי אֵרֵד עִמְּךָ מִצְרָיְמָה”— “I will go down with you to Egypt” (Genesis 46:4). He said to Him again: I am afraid that I will not merit to be buried among my fathers and will not see the redemption of my children and the mighty acts You will do for them. He said to him: “וְאָנֹכִי אַעַלְךָ גַּם עָלֹה”— “And I will surely bring you up” (Genesis 46:4).
I will bring you up, to be buried in the grave of your fathers.
“גַּם עָלֹה”— also surely bring up, to see the redemption of your children and the mighty acts I will do for them.
Notes:
Jacob fears for his children and burial; God promises to descend with him (אֵרֵד עִמְּךָ) and surely bring him up (אַעַלְךָ גַּם עָלֹה) to see redemption.
#197
And on that day when Israel went out from Egypt, the Holy One, blessed be He, raised Jacob and said to him: Arise and see the redemption of your children, how many powers and mighty acts I have done for them. And Jacob was there and saw everything. This is what is written: “וַיַּרְא יִשְׂרָאֵל אֶת הַיָּד הַגְּדֹלָה”— “And Israel saw the great hand” (Exodus 14:31).
Notes:
God raised Jacob (Israel) from his resting place to witness the redemption and mighty acts performed for his descendants. Jacob saw everything, as expressed in (Exodus 14:31), symbolizing the patriarch’s spiritual presence and joy in the nation’s deliverance.

Rabbi Yitzchak said: From here we learn that Jacob was present at the time of the redemption, as it is written: “וַיּוֹצִיאֲךָ בְּפָנָיו בְּכֹחוֹ הַגָּדוֹל מִמִּצְרָיִם”— “And He brought you out before Him with His great power from Egypt” (Deuteronomy 4:34).
What is בְּפָנָיו — “before Him”? בְּפָנָיו — this is Jacob. For He brought all the patriarchs there. Rabbi Chezkiah said: “וַיּוֹצִיאֲךָ בְּפָנָיו”— “before Him” — this is Abraham. As it is written: “וַיִּפֹּל אַבְרָהָם עַל פָּנָיו”— “And Abraham fell on his face” (Genesis 17:3).
