Zohar Vayikra

#272
And therefore, these masters of teshuvah sit in the supernal place, Binah. And these completely righteous sit in a lower place, that is, in Yessod of Zeir Anpin. What is the reason?
It is because these masters of teshuvah return the waters — which are the abundance — to their place, from the supernal place of the deep river, which is Binah, down to that place which is called “tzaddik” — that is, Yessod of Zeir Anpin.
But the completely righteous draw the abundance from the place where they sit — that is, from Yessod of Zeir Anpin — down to this world.
And therefore these masters of teshuvah are higher, and these completely righteous are lower. Fortunate is the portion of the masters of teshuvah, who draw the abundance from Binah to Yessod of Zeir Anpin. And fortunate is the portion of the tzaddikim, for whose sake the world exists, who draw the abundance from Yessod of Zeir Anpin to this world.
Notes:
The Zohar explains the difference in spiritual station between the masters of teshuvah and the completely righteous (צַדִּיקִים גְּמוּרִים). The masters of teshuvah occupy the higher level of Binah because their repentance returns the supernal flow (the “waters”) from the deep river of Binah all the way down to Yessod of Zeir Anpin, repairing the entire channel.
The completely righteous, by contrast, are rooted in Yessod of Zeir Anpin and draw that abundance downward into this world, sustaining physical existence. Both are essential: the masters of teshuvah perform the higher repair by reopening the flow from Binah, while the tzaddikim ensure that the blessing reaches the lower world. This is why the Zohar says the world exists for the sake of the tzaddikim, yet the masters of teshuvah stand on a more elevated rung. Both groups are fortunate, each fulfilling a vital role in the cosmic chain of divine blessing.
Friday would be a good day to make a ** Donation, especially if you didn’t donate in the past week. Giving on Friday, which is an aspect of Yessod, expands the vessel for the Light and honor of Shabbat.
** Your donation doesn’t have to be given to the same place every week. You can alternate or split your donation among those who benefit you spiritually.
