Daily Zohar # 5186 – Vayikra – If you rise at midnight to study Torah #2
Daily Zohar 5186

#372
And in the book are written all these sons of the palace, who rise at night, and a thread of Chassadim is drawn upon them by day. From that thread of Chassadim, the man is crowned with the crown of the King, which is the secret of the upper three (ג”ר, Gimel Rishonot). And the upper and lower beings fear him. He enters all the gates of the King, and there is no one who can protest against him. And even at the time when the masters of judgment (din) stand to judge the world, they do not judge him. Because he is inscribed with the mark of the King, it is known that he is from the palace of the King, and because of this, they do not judge him. Fortunate is the portion of the tzaddikim who occupy themselves with Torah, and all the more so at the time when the Holy One, blessed be He, yearns for words of Torah — that is, at midnight.
#373
Come and see: The secret of the matter is that Knesset Yisrael does not stand before the King, Zeir Anpin, except through Torah. And as long as Israel in the land occupy themselves with Torah, Knesset Yisrael dwells with them. When they cease from words of Torah, Knesset Yisrael cannot be found with them even for one hour. Because of this, at the time when Knesset Yisrael is aroused to the King through the Torah of the lower ones, her power is strengthened, and the Holy King rejoices to receive her.
Notes:
The Zohar praises those who rise at midnight for Torah study. They are recorded as “sons of the palace” and crowned by day with a thread of Chassadim and the supernal mochin (ג”ר, Gimel Rishonot). Even the forces of judgment cannot touch them, as they are marked as belonging to the King.
Knesset Yisrael (the Shekhinah) can only stand before Zeir Anpin through the Torah of Israel below. When Israel studies, she dwells with them and is strengthened; when they cease, she cannot remain. Midnight Torah study is therefore the time when the Shekhinah is most powerfully aroused and joyfully received by the King, bringing blessing to all worlds. This reveals the cosmic significance of nighttime Torah study as the bridge that unites the divine masculine and feminine.
