Genesis 32:2
“וְיַעֲקֹב, הָלַךְ לְדַרְכּוֹ; וַיִּפְגְּעוּ-בוֹ, מַלְאֲכֵי אֱלֹהִים”
“And Jacob went on his way, and the angels of God met him.”
The verse says that the angels of God met Jacob, not that Jacob met the angels. The Zohar explains that it is written this way because the angels didn’t meet him by chance, they came with a purpose.  The angels were from the side of Gevurah because it says, “Angels of God (אלהים ELHYM)” that is the aspect of Gevurah, Left line. Jacob saw on another side, Angels of Mercy. Jacob as a center line saw them together as Mercy and judgments together.

Genesis 32:3
“וַיֹּאמֶר יַעֲקֹב כַּאֲשֶׁר רָאָם, מַחֲנֵה אֱלֹהִים זֶה; וַיִּקְרָא שֵׁם-הַמָּקוֹם הַהוּא, מַחֲנָיִם”
“Jacob said when he saw them, “This is God’s camp.” So he named that place Mahanaim.”
The word “Mahanaim” means ‘two camps.’ When Jacob saw them first he said; “this is God’s camp” in a singular form. Then it says ‘camps’ to indicate two camps of angels, one from the Right, Chessed, mercy and one from the Left, Gevurah, judgment. Jacob was in the middle. They came to protect him from his brother Esau that was on his way to kill him.
Lesson;
The Kabbalists teach us that these Torah verses give us protection, especially after prayer.

See, I am sending an angel before you to protect you on your journey and lead you safely to the place I have prepared for you.
