David was engaged in songs and praises connecting him to the essence of the Light of the upper three sefirot, which is the secret of the Amida. Because of that, King David connected to the Light of the soul level חיה, Chaya, and he lives forever. And even in the days of Mashiach, he is the king, for we have learned that if the Mashiach is among the living, his name is David. And if he is one of the souls of the departed who will be resurrected, his name is David.
He was always get up to engage in the Torah before dawn broke as it is written;
Psalm 57:9
“Awake, my glory! Awake, lute and harp! I will wake up at dawn.”

All that night, while Sarah was with Pharaoh, the archangels came to sing before the Holy One, Blessed be He, in songs and praises. He said to them: Go, all of you, and inflict great plagues on Egypt, to mark what I will do in the future. It is written;
Genesis 12:17
“But YHVH plagued Pharaoh and his house with great plagues because of Sarai, Abram’s wife.”

The Zohar asks how Pharaoh knew that Sarai was Abram’s wife.
Genesis 12:18
“And Pharaoh called Abram and said, “What is this you have done to me? Why did you not tell me that she was your wife?”
In the other case with Abimelech, Hashem told him to let Sarai go; otherwise, he would suffer the consequences.
Genesis 20:7
“Now, restore the man’s wife; for he is a prophet, and he will pray for you, and you shall live. But if you do not restore her, know that you shall surely die, you and all who are yours.”
