Daily Zohar # 4155 – Vaera – One hand stretch can reach far
Daily Zohar 4155

“Then YHVH spoke to Moses, “Say to Aaron, ‘Take your rod and stretch out your hand over the waters of Egypt, over their streams, over their rivers, over their ponds, and over all their pools of water, that they may become blood. And there shall be blood throughout all the land of Egypt, both in buckets of wood and pitchers of stone.’ ”
Rabbi Yehuda said one must look deeper in this verse and ask how Aaron could go to all the water places throughout the land of Egypt. It is also written “the river” in singular form while the instruction was about all the waters of Egypt, their rivers, and their lakes.

Exodus 7:25
“And seven days passed after YHVH had struck the river.”
He explains that the waters of Egypt is the Nile river that fills all the other rivers, springs, and lakes. And therefore, Aharon stretched out his hand to strike only the Nile, and the Egyptians could not drink water because the Nile was the source of all the waters of Egypt.
It is written;
Exodus 7:21
“The fish that were in the river died, the river stank, and the Egyptians could not drink the water of the river. So there was blood throughout all the land of Egypt.”
