He asks: “וּרְאֵה בָנִים לְבָנֶיךָ” “And see children to your children”—this is beautiful. But what is the meaning of “שָׁלוֹם עַל יִשְׂרָאֵל” “Peace upon Israel”? What does it mean here when it says “עַל יִשְׂרָאֵל” “upon Israel”? He answers: It is because that person brings about great Peace Above. Since he has merited so much, he causes Peace to multiply above and below. “Peace upon Israel” refers to Israel below, in general. And Peace is the praise of the upper and lower worlds, the praise of all the worlds. And words of Torah increase peace in the world, as it is written: “ה’ עֹז (77, תורה) לְעַמּוֹ יִתֵּן ה’ יְבָרֵךְ אֶת עַמּוֹ בַשָּׁלוֹם” “Hashem gives strength (Torah) to His people; Hashem blesses His people with peace.” (Psalms 29:11)
Notes:
We conclude the morning prayers (Shacharit) with the above verse (Psalms 29:11) to tell us that the Torah was given to strengthen us and to have a connection that would draw blessings from the higher levels.

Rabbi Yosi opened and said: “עַד שֶׁיָּפוּחַ הַיּוֹם וְנָסוּ הַצְּלָלִים” “Until the day breathes and the shadows flee away…” (Song of Songs 2:17) How much people should take care and be cautious regarding their sins, and not to make sin before their Master. For each and every day, a heavenly proclamation (בת קול) goes out and calls: “Children of the world, awaken your hearts before the Holy King. Awaken and be cautious of your sins.
Awaken the holy soul that He placed within you that comes from the supernal holy place.”
Notes:
We are reminded that our soul was given from the holy place—A piece of the Divine, placed within us. This soul carries potential, light, and mission (Tikun)—But it must be awakened and guarded through awareness and action as guided by the Torah.
This passage is a wake-up call from above, urging each of us to reconnect with the Divine spark within and to live consciously before the shadows (an aspect of the soul leaving the body) vanishes and the whole day of truth arrives (the day of judgment above).
Friday would be a good day to make a ** Donation, especially if you didn’t donate in the past week. Giving on Friday, which is an aspect of Yessod, expands the vessel for the Light and honor of Shabbat.
** Your donation doesn’t have to be given to the same place every week. You can alternate or split your donation among those who benefit you spiritually.
