Hebrew translation:

81. וְהָיָה כָּתוּב בּוֹ, שֶׁכְּמוֹ שֶׁהָרָצוֹן שֶׁל הָאָדָם מִתְכַּוֵּן בּוֹ בָּעוֹלָם הַזֶּה, כָּךְ מַמְשִׁיךְ עָלָיו רוּחַ מִלְמַעְלָה כְּמוֹ אוֹתוֹ הָרָצוֹן שֶׁנִּדְבָּק בּוֹ. אִם רְצוֹנוֹ הִתְכַּוֵּן לְדָבָר עֶלְיוֹן קָדוֹשׁ, הוּא מַמְשִׁיךְ אוֹתוֹ הַדָּבָר מִלְמַעְלָה לְמַטָּה אֵלָיו.
82. וְאִם רְצוֹנוֹ לְהִתְדַּבֵּק בַּצַּד הָאַחֵר וּמִתְכַּוֵּן בּוֹ, הוּא מַמְשִׁיךְ אֶת אוֹתוֹ הַדָּבָר מִלְמַעְלָה לְמַטָּה אֵלָיו. וְהָיוּ אוֹמְרִים שֶׁעִקַּר הַדָּבָר תָּלוּי בְּדִבּוּרִים וּבְמַעֲשֶׂה וּבְרָצוֹן לְהִתְדַּבֵּק, וּבָזֶה נִמְשָׁךְ מִלְמַעְלָה לְמַטָּה אוֹתוֹ הַצַּד שֶׁנִּדְבָּק בּוֹ.

Rabbi Yossei asks about why magic and witchcrafts found mostly in women and Rabbi Yitzchak answers that because the Snake came to Eve and put impurity in her, not her husband. Witchcrafts come from the side of the Snake, and women are a strong conduit for that.

Numbers 23:7
“וַיִּשָּׂא מְשָׁלוֹ וַיֹּאמַר מִן אֲרָם יַנְחֵנִי בָלָק מֶלֶךְ מוֹאָב מֵהַרְרֵי קֶדֶם לְכָה אָרָה לִּי יַעֲקֹב וּלְכָה זֹעֲמָה יִשְׂרָאֵל.”
“He took up his discourse and said, “From Aram, Balak has brought me, Moab’s king from the mountains of the East, ‘Come to curse Jacob for me, And come, denounce Israel!’”
Balaam learned witchcrafts from his father and that knowledge came from ‘הררי קדם’,’Mountains of the East’. In these mountains, God chained the angels Aza and Azael that he cast away from heavens after they criticized the creation of man. They tell the secrets of witchcraft to people who seek it.

We learned before (#79) that Balaam ‘did not go as at other times to seek omens (Snakes)’, but he went to the wilderness. The impure spirit that governs the wilderness is the same force that was in control at the time the nation created the Golden Calf.
Balaam tried to get the negative forces from all sides to eradicate Israel, but he couldn’t.
